Should new clothes be washed before wearing? A clothing factory owner reveals the correct approach

The temperature has dropped sharply these past two days, but the thing Huahua hears most is not complaints about how cold it is, but rather that once it gets cold it's time to buy new clothes again! In the past, when living conditions were tough, clothes were just a tool for keeping warm for people, but now living conditions are getting better and better, and everyone has started chasing fashion. The most important point of this fashion is to start by changing your clothing!
So now whenever the season changes, a huge crowd of buy-buy-buy people appears in the shopping malls. Huahua loves buying clothes too, and often when she comes across something she likes she just puts it right on. But her mom always says to wash it once before wearing, that there are bacteria all over it. Huahua just doesn't get it - it's not even close-fitting clothing and it's brand new, so why can't she just wear it directly? So she asked around and found a clothing factory owner, and only then did she learn that wearing clothes without washing them first is this harmful!
1. Formaldehyde is very harmful
Any piece of clothing has to go through printing and dyeing during production. The materials used in the printing and dyeing process all contain formaldehyde and other chemical components, because these things can help fix the color of the clothing and prevent wrinkling. But formaldehyde is extremely harmful to the human body. If you are exposed to a formaldehyde environment for a long time, symptoms such as chest tightness and headaches are very likely to appear.
To prevent this from happening, we need to wash new clothes once before wearing them, because the formaldehyde content contained in clothing during printing and dyeing is not very high, and it can be dissolved through washing with water. This way it won't leave any room for formaldehyde to evaporate, and wearing them will feel safer too! If it's close-fitting clothing, washing is even more necessary, to avoid the chemical components in it harming the skin.
2. Check whether the clothing loses color
Clothes are all printed and dyed with dyes, and different dyes have different quality. In many cases when we buy dark-colored clothes we worry about whether they will lose color. If we wear our clothes directly without washing them first, then if the clothing loses color, some of the fading dye will come into long-term contact with the skin, causing harm to health.
Washing new clothes before wearing them lets us know whether the clothing loses color, and generally the first wash of color-losing clothing has the most fading, so it can also help us wash away most of the fading dye, making it much safer to wear afterward.
3. Remove dust and bacteria
When we go to the mall to pick out clothes, we rarely get an unopened one. Most of the time it's one that others have tried on, so there may be a lot of bacteria and dust left on the clothing, and wearing it directly may not be very hygienic. But after we soak and wash it at home, we can avoid this situation.
Next time you buy new clothes, don't rush to put them on - washing them first is safer and healthier!
