The orchid with the longest flowering period, blooming for months at a time, beautiful and easy to grow, and it can also serve as a Lunar New Year flower

Introduction
Green plants and potted flowers are essential decorative touches for the home. Keeping some flowers and plants at home has many benefits, as they can both beautify the living space and lift your mood. "Huasheng Potted Plant Diary, Issue 1384" introduces you to an orchid with the longest flowering period.
Today's featured plant
Orchids are traditional famous flowers in China and have a great many admirers, yet many orchids (such as Cymbidium goeringii and Cymbidium faberi) are difficult to bring into bloom under artificial cultivation and have short flowering periods. Most of the time they are just "grass," which quickly tries the patience of novice orchid growers. Today we introduce the Phalaenopsis orchid, the orchid with the longest flowering period.
Phalaenopsis orchid
The Phalaenopsis orchid, also known as the moth orchid, is a perennial herbaceous flowering plant of the genus Phalaenopsis in the Orchidaceae family. It gets its name because its flowers look like dancing butterflies. Its flower colors are gorgeous and varied, making it extremely beautiful, and it has long enjoyed the reputation of "Queen of the Foreign Orchids." But in fact it is also a Chinese orchid - the most famous ones all come from Taiwan, China, so it is no exaggeration to call it a genuine Chinese orchid.
Extra-long flowering period
The Phalaenopsis orchid not only has high ornamental value, its flowering period is also almost the longest of all orchids, with a single bloom lasting several months. I am located in South China, and every year from late winter the flower beds in the park downstairs are filled with all kinds of Phalaenopsis orchids. Their flowering period can begin at Spring Festival and last until late May, blooming for months on end, with an extremely long viewing period.
Easy care
Compared with traditional Chinese orchids such as Cymbidium goeringii, Cymbidium faberi and Cymbidium ensifolium, the Phalaenopsis orchid counts as a very easy-to-grow orchid. It has the well-developed root system of a foreign orchid, a strong plant body, thick broad leaves, and strong adaptability to the environment. It is drought-tolerant and dry-tolerant, and can be grown well in most parts of China. Do not use soil directly as the growing medium; sphagnum moss is recommended as the best option, and beginners who do not know how to mix potting medium can directly use special orchid potting soil.
An excellent potted ornamental
The Phalaenopsis orchid basically blooms at the turn of winter and spring, which coincides with Spring Festival, the most important festival in China. It has always been an excellent Lunar New Year flower and is very popular in the flower market at the end of the year. With large, brightly colored flowers, it is still very eye-catching when placed in a living room. Some varieties also have a rich fragrance, and the price is very cheap. It is worth having, so if you are growing flowers in autumn, you might give the Phalaenopsis orchid a try.
