Bananas contain a variety of trace elements and vitamins, can help us relax our muscles, make people feel happy both physically and mentally, and have a certain weight-loss effect. They are a very common fruit in our daily lives. After eating a banana, people usually just throw the peel away, but it is a bit of a pity to throw banana peels straight into the bin, because they are a great helper for growing flowers. Let us take a detailed look below.

1. Using bananas as fertilizer

Banana peels are rich in potassium. Using banana peels as fertilizer not only ensures that the fertilizer is completely natural but also saves money, killing two birds with one stone. Cut the collected banana peels into small pieces, as this makes them easier to decompose. Find a relatively large flower pot or trash can, first put about 10 cm of soil in it, then spread a layer of chopped banana peels, then add another layer of soil, then another layer of banana peels, filling it in this order, and just make sure the topmost layer is soil.

You can also pour a little clean water in, and then it can be placed in the sun to decompose. Generally, it can decompose completely in about one month, after which it can be mixed with other nutrient soil for use.

2. Banana peel nutrient solution

This method is more suitable for flowers that are not growing very well, and it can have a fertilizing effect. At this point, we can make our own banana peel nutrient solution. Put the chopped banana peels into a plastic bottle, then add some clean water, and you can also add a little orange peel to remove the odor produced during fermentation, after which it can be placed in the sun to ferment.

Generally, it can decompose completely in about one month. After that, you can take the clear liquid from the upper layer and use it to water flowers or spray it onto plant leaves, which can achieve the effect of fertilizing the flowers.

3. Wiping leaves

For plants kept at home, dust often accumulates on the leaves, which affects the plants' photosynthesis and respiration, so if it is not dealt with for a long time, it can easily affect plant growth. At this point, you can use fresh banana peels to wipe the leaves. This is also a little trick to make banana peel leaves more glossy. The natural oils contained in banana peels can absorb dust and also help provide nutrients to the flowers.
