When growing succulents, what is the most important thing? That is certainly root growth. The most important part of a plant is its roots; if the roots do not grow well, the whole plant will die. In this autumn season, what we most often do is grow succulents, so how do we grow them? We often choose the leaf propagation method. Then the problem is obvious: the leaf propagation method means it has no roots, and we need to plant it in soil so that it grows more, so what should we do?

When we are about to do leaf propagation, we need to make some preparations in advance. First, we need to choose a suitable leaf. For succulent leaves, we should certainly choose plump leaves, because that kind of leaf is the healthiest. Second, after we select the leaf, we will certainly remove it from the original plant, so it will certainly have a wound, and we must treat these wounds, that is, let the wounds heal on their own. Generally, if we want to speed up wound healing, we usually air-dry it, and the drying location is also very important: it should be a place with airflow and where it can receive sunlight. The most important point is that when we choose leaves, it is best to choose leaves when they are very small, because at that time their vitality is the strongest.

After that comes the actual leaf propagation. This step is very important. The soil we choose must be soil without bacteria, so before using the soil, we often leave it in the sun for a day, which can have a very good sterilizing effect.

After we finish the leaf propagation, we must pay attention: if our leaf has not yet grown roots or sprouted, then we cannot water it. At this time it must rely on itself, and if we water it, it will very likely rot and die. If we are worried that it will die of thirst, then we can spray some water into the air and let it absorb it on its own.

So how can we make succulents grow roots quickly? There is actually a method for this too. Before planting the plant, choose a suitable flower pot, then place some large stones at the bottom of the pot, or it can also be clumps of large-particle soil. Of course, the soil above should not be this kind; this is mainly to make the lower part more airy.

The soil above also cannot use only the original soil. We can mix the original soil with other large-particle materials and use it as soil to plant our succulents. Then we need to place our flower pot in a water basin. Through this method, at most one week our leaf will be able to sprout, and at most two weeks it will be able to grow roots.

Of course, if we are worried that our succulent cannot sprout, then after completing the above steps, we can cover it with a layer of plastic wrap. This is to keep the succulent at a constant temperature, so the succulent will grow better and better. But we should not forget to poke a few small holes in the plastic wrap with a toothpick. This is to let the plant breathe, otherwise the plant will be smothered inside the plastic wrap, and when poking the holes, they should be evenly distributed, not all in one place.
