How to keep Christmas cactus and kalanchoe warm in winter? This trick from an old flower farmer works really well

In recent years, more and more people have come to see growing flowers as a fashion, and there are two stages in flower growing that are especially important: getting through summer and getting through winter. If the plants are not cared for well during these two stages, they easily grow poorly or even die.
As temperatures drop, the transition into winter gradually begins. Many flowers and plants are not very cold-tolerant, such as Christmas cactus (Schlumbergera) and kalanchoe (Kalanchoe blossfeldiana), so they need to be kept appropriately warm to help them grow better and produce more and brighter blooms!
When it comes to how to keep Christmas cactus and kalanchoe warm, the old flower farmer has his own very effective little method. Today Hua'er will introduce this little method to everyone. The approach we more commonly use is to simply move the plants indoors. Although this does help keep them warm to some extent, there is less light indoors, especially since kalanchoe blooms in winter. If there is not enough light, it will affect the flowering result, and moving them back and forth will also affect growth and flowering.
So when the temperature reaches a certain level and has already affected the plants' growth, that is when you should use this little method: just put a plastic bag over the flower pot. This can help keep them warm. If the temperature is even lower, you can also put a cardboard box over the outside of the plastic bag. This allows the flowers and plants to get through winter better, and this approach also helps the flowers and plants differentiate flower buds and produce more blooms.
In the south there can be frost. The stems and leaves of Christmas cactus are easily frozen and ruined, so warm-keeping measures should be prepared before the frost comes. Also, after the sun comes out the next day, the plastic bag and cardboard box should be removed promptly so the plant can be exposed to sunlight early, carry out photosynthesis, speed up metabolism, and effectively improve the plant's resistance.
That is all for the introduction to flower care. If fellow flower lovers have anything to add, you can share it with everyone in the comments section below. If you want to learn more about flower growing, you can follow Hua Jian Ke!
