Grow vegetables without buying flower pots - these containers are practical and good-looking

People who know how to enjoy life always discover little creative ideas in daily life. To grow a pot of vegetables on the balcony, you do not necessarily have to buy flower pots. Some unused containers at home can be turned into vegetable planters with just a little modification, and they are very suitable for growing flowers and vegetables too!
NO.1 Empty oil drums
Every household has empty oil drums. Never throw away used empty oil drums - with just two snips of the scissors they can be used, and they are very durable!
Cutting method:
Use scissors to cut the oil drum open horizontally. This way the vegetable-growing area is quite large. After cutting, drill a few small holes in the bottom so the soil gets more air, which helps the vegetables sprout!
You can also cut it horizontally. If cut horizontally, the soil depth is greater. Drill a few holes in the bottom of the oil drum and you can use it to grow strawberries. Grown this way, the strawberries will grow very well, will not rot at the roots, and will retain both fertilizer and water!
NO.2 Yogurt cups
Do not rush to throw away yogurt cups after drinking. They can be used to grow flowers and vegetables. Poke a few small holes in the bottom to make sure the roots can breathe with the outside air. Plant a small bok choy, and the seedling will naturally grow bigger and bigger. Or after it sprouts, dig out the soil and transplant it into a large flower pot.
A fellow vegetable grower planted bok choy and lettuce seedlings in yogurt cups. Do not be fooled by how small they are now - they grow quickly too. Lining a row of them up on the windowsill is quite fun.
NO.3 Disposable small paper cups
The disposable small paper cups left over from drinking water, with small holes poked in the bottom, or plastic cups, can all be used to grow vegetables. Put two chili pepper or tomato seeds in, and after they sprout, tear off the outer skin and transplant them into a flower pot.
They can also be used to grow some small aloe seedlings, and you can observe the development of the roots. You only need to water them. It reuses waste and also serves as a green ornamental plant.
NO.4 Milk powder tins
Many families have children. The empty milk powder tins left after children drink the milk powder can be used to grow vegetables. Use a hammer or nail to poke 7-8 holes in the bottom.
Lettuce, basil and cilantro grow just right in them. They are filled with leaf mold soil dug up from outside, which is very fertile.
I planted a few cilantro plants in a milk powder tin. When I forget to buy seasonings while shopping for groceries, I just pick some to eat. It is convenient and good-looking - two benefits in one.
After planting the vegetables, be sure to fertilize them a little, and at the same time keep the soil moist. Poor, dry soil is not good for seed germination. I suggest applying 20g of microbial inoculant to the vegetables to help improve the soil and provide plenty of nutrients for the vegetables!
