Once I visited a friend's house, and he handed me a cup of greenish drink. After one sip, I really did not know how to describe the taste. It was slightly bitter, yet had a faint fresh fragrance. Later my friend told me it was wheatgrass juice, which really left me completely baffled.

For as long as I can remember, I have always thought wheatgrass and garlic chives look very much alike. In the past I only knew that garlic chives could be eaten, but before drinking wheatgrass juice, I never knew that wheatgrass could also be juiced and drunk, and that its nutrition is actually quite good.

Wheatgrass juice is a kind of herb. It is rich in minerals such as calcium, phosphorus and iron, and also contains vitamins A, C and E as well as super antioxidants. It has effects such as strengthening the stomach and aiding digestion, and soothing the intestines and stomach, making it fairly good for health preservation.

Where does fresh wheatgrass come from?

In fact, with a handful of wheat seeds, no soil, and a few paper towels, you can grow it. Seedlings emerge in about 2 days. The method is very simple, and wheatgrass also grows very quickly. It can be harvested in about 10 days.

To grow wheatgrass at home, first soak the wheat in warm water for 8 hours, then lay 1-2 soaked paper towels in the container you need, spread the soaked wheat on top of the paper towels, then lay 1 soaked paper towel on top. Every day, use a fine-nozzle spray bottle to spray water and keep it moist. In about 2 days you will see small sprouts emerging.

Once the wheatgrass sprouts, you can remove the paper towel on top, then place it in a bright spot with indirect light for care. Spray water every day to keep it moist. When it grows to about 12 cm, it can be cut and eaten. It is very fast.
