Clivia can be counted among the ten most beautiful flowers, and I personally very much enjoy growing clivia too. It can bring you a kind of wordless pleasure, and growing clivia indoors can further purify the air. Its glossy green leaves look very "dignified", and its flowers are also very beautiful, so it is very popular among flower lovers. How should clivia be grown? Use these "3 tricks" to grow clivia well, and after 1 month it will "sprout" small flowers, with glossy green leaves that are very pleasing to look at!

1. Adjust the placement of the clivia

There are two ways to position clivia: one is to make the leaf surface parallel to the sunny window, and the other is to make the leaf surface perpendicular to the sunny window. No matter which method is used, the side facing the sun should be rotated about once every 10 days, so that the leaves receive light evenly. This is the basic condition for ensuring even leaf growth. Do not casually move it around every day, or leave it in one place without attention for a long time.

Adjusting the placement can bring very noticeable results. For example, when clivia shows uneven growth and yellowing, we can actually improve it by just slightly adjusting its position. You can also place the clivia with the leaves on both sides oriented east-west, so that the leaves receive light and nutrients evenly. In this way, the nutrients are balanced and there will be no inconsistent growth rates.

2. Supplement fertilizer for the clivia in time

If the clivia you are growing did not pollinate and set fruit in spring, then fertilizing is relatively simple. A balanced live-bacteria compound fertilizer can meet the growth needs of clivia. Each time, you do not need too much, 5-10 granules is enough, or you can use slow-release fertilizer, whose effect lasts relatively long and can last three months.

For clivia at the seedling stage, it has not entered the reproductive growth stage, the fertilizer needed is relatively simple, and it should mainly be nitrogen fertilizer. The root system of clivia is not yet fully developed, its absorption capacity is weak, and its demand is also small. For example, one-year-old small seedlings may not need fertilizing, as the fertilizer in the nutrient soil is enough to supply plant growth.

3. Change the potting soil for the clivia in time

After the Start of Autumn, the weather turns cooler, the dormant period of clivia ends, and it gradually enters the growth period. Every year at this time, it is time to repot the clivia. If the clivia seedling has grown in the original pot for a year, the nutrients in the potting soil are almost exhausted, and new potting soil should be replaced to ensure nutrient supply.

One issue to note is that you must wait until the potting soil is completely dry before repotting. When the potting soil is moist, it is easy to bruise the clivia roots. After early October, the clivia can be moved indoors for care, and from then until April of the following year it can be given full sun. Sufficient sunlight can greatly increase the accumulation of nutrients and is very beneficial for flowering.
