How to create a DIY small garden? The whole family pitches in together
Design overview:
The ground-floor yard is 50 sq m, and the whole family planned and built it together. After more than a month of hard work, the beautiful yard was completed on April 13. First DIY experience, so exciting. The yard faces south and is a regular rectangle, 11 m long from east to west and 4.5 m wide from north to south.
It gets sunlight all day. The developer used holly for the hedge, and we hired someone to build a wooden fence along the inner side of the holly, with a small door on the south side for easy access. East side of the yard: a grape trellis was built in the southeast corner, with tables and chairs underneath, where you can sit and chat or play cards in your spare time. Between the grape trellis and the living room floor-to-ceiling window is an activity area of about 6 sq m. A swing is placed against the fence. The swing has already been picked out at B&Q, just waiting for a day to bring it home. It can also be used for barbecues here in the future.
On the east side of the fence gate on the south side of the yard, a small fish pond of about 2 sq m was built, decorated all around with flowers and plants, and fruit trees were planted in the corner between the fish pond and the grape trellis. On the west side of the fence gate on the south side, osmanthus trees, peach trees and pear trees were planted.

Step one: Dig out a fish pond of about 2 sq m, gourd-shaped.

On the west side of the yard, against the fence, there is a patch of about 2 sq m. It was cultivated and planted with many roses, as well as vegetables my mom grew.
The northwest corner of the yard is a water basin. All kinds of gardening tools, large and small, are piled under the protruding windowsill beside the water basin.
