As people's living standards improve, more and more people are pursuing better food, especially when it comes to vegetables, preferring pure, natural, pollution-free organic vegetables, so most people grow some vegetables on their balconies.

Every vegetable has its own special qualities, such as being rich in iron or zinc. Today Hua'er would also like to introduce a vegetable known as "high-calcium greens", which is easy to grow and delicious, extremely good for the health of the elderly and children, and well worth planting!

These "high-calcium greens" are radish greens. Although radish greens are a type of radish, it is mainly the leaves and stems that are eaten. They are rich in calcium and some trace elements, and they taste especially good, making them an excellent vegetable for supplementing calcium.

Radish greens are grown from seed. You can buy some seeds, then first refrigerate them for 24 hours, and then soak them in clean water for about 24 hours. During soaking, remove the poor-quality seeds that float on the surface of the water.

Radish greens do not have high soil requirements and like a fertile, loose environment. You can use 2 parts leaf mold, 1 part garden soil and 1 part vermiculite to mix into a growing medium. You can add an appropriate amount of bone meal or crushed eggshells to increase the soil's fertility and air permeability, then put it into a larger foam box, etc. (several holes must be punched in the bottom so excess water can drain out). The growing medium does not need to be too thick; keep it at 5-8cm.

Evenly sprinkle the soaked radish green seeds on the surface of the growing medium, not too densely, then spread a thin layer of soil on top, then water with a spray bottle, and cover with a layer of plastic film to increase temperature and humidity and promote the sprouting of flower buds.

Maintain humidity during the care process. They will sprout in about 3 days. Once more than half have sprouted, remove the plastic film and let them gradually receive sunlight. When the plants are 3-5cm tall, you can apply the first fertilizer, preferably a diluted liquid fertilizer, such as fermented rice-washing water, fish intestine water, soybean cake water, etc. After that, apply once every 5-7 days. When the plants reach 10-15cm, they can be harvested, after which you can turn the soil again and continue sowing.

That is all for the care of radish greens. If fellow flower lovers have other additions, you can share them with everyone in the comments section below. If you want to learn more about flower growing, you can follow Huajianke!
