Succulent wreath DIY tutorial: easy to make in just a few simple steps

A succulent wreath is a type of combined succulent arrangement, perfect for hanging in a corner of the garden or balcony to enjoy, with rich colors and varieties.
Steps
Step 1
Prepare materials and tools
1. Main materials: succulents, sphagnum moss, slow-release fertilizer specially for succulents, (wire ring) wreath frame
For the plants used to make a succulent wreath, you can choose a diverse range of varieties (for easier care later on, it is best to choose ones with similar habits) and different sizes, so they fill out nicely when combined.
2. Main tools: tweezers, scissors, basin
Step 2
How to make a succulent wreath
2.1Good sphagnum moss is fluffy, thick and has long fibers, with a yellow-white color and few impurities. A good growing medium is the foundation for plants to survive and thrive.
2.2Soak the sphagnum moss in water while picking out any impurities.
2.3After the sphagnum moss has fully absorbed water, squeeze out the excess so that it is moist but not wet.
2.4Place the wire ring with the back side facing up and stuff the sphagnum moss into it, taking care not to fill it all at once.
2.5Sprinkle the slow-release fertilizer evenly into the sphagnum moss. Sphagnum moss has no nutrients, so adding long-acting slow-release fertilizer is very necessary.
2.6Continue stuffing the sphagnum moss until the wire ring is full.
2.7The wreath base is done, half the work is complete!
Step 3
Transplanting succulents into the wreath
3.1Choose plants with slightly longer stems and roots, but if the root system is too developed, you can also trim the roots appropriately before planting.
3.2Use tweezers to poke a hole in the sphagnum moss and insert the plant with trimmed roots into it.
3.3Then fill a little more sphagnum moss around the stem and roots to secure it better.
3.4 Keep repeating the previous step, planting the plants one by one until the wire ring is completely filled. Right after planting, you can lay the wreath flat and wait one week to half a month; once the roots have grown out and taken hold, you can hang it up.
Tips
1. The wreath is best placed on a balcony, terrace or in the garden; a windowsill is not very suitable, and indoors is not suitable either. So everyone should first figure out their own space; definitely do not just buy it because it looks nice, what suits you is the most important.
2. The wreath needs plenty of sunlight. It is best to grow it outdoors in spring, summer and autumn, as this keeps the wreath from losing its shape.
3. For watering, it is best to take it down and use the soaking method. When you see the sphagnum moss is dry, immerse the wire ring in water, let the sphagnum moss absorb water, then take it out. After one soaking, no watering is needed for a month.
