If you keep caring for your pothos this way in this season, beware of being left with nothing but an empty pot

Gardeners who grow pothos at home all know that pothos is a plant that loves water and tolerates shade, so in our day-to-day care, we should not only water them more.
But do be careful: if you are still watering your pothos at home frequently right now, you may end up with the opposite of what you want, and in this season, if the pothos is not cared for this way, your pothos may not make it through winter and you will be left with nothing but an empty pot.
So how should you water and care for pothos now?
Pothos is a very cold-sensitive plant, and as the temperature keeps dropping, we must protect them from freezing and keep them warm, otherwise they can easily freeze to death. Do not leave them in a dark corner; let themget more sun, as this is good for their growth and also prevents them from getting frost damage.
Many gardeners, seeing their pothos start to yellow and get scorched tips, begin to fertilize and water frequently. In fact,in this season, yellowing leaves on pothos are a very normal natural phenomenon; this is the pothos adjusting itself to adapt to the changing temperature, so if there are some yellow leaves, scorched tips and the like, we do not need to fuss over them, otherwise it will only backfire.
Pothos does not like the cold, so at this time we cannot water pothos according to our previous care methods;the watering frequency should be reduced appropriately, to about once a week.
Try to choose a warm afternoon for watering, and the water temperature must not be too low; you canput the tap water in the sun to warm up before watering, otherwise, if the water is too cold, the plant's roots can easily get frost damage and rot.
In our day-to-day care of pothos, if we find they have not grown for a long time, we can try shaking them gently with our hands; if the root system is loose and not firm, then the roots have very likely rotted, and we should promptly take them out of the pot to check, prune and disinfect them, then repot them, and afterward watering must be controlled so the roots are not left soaking for long periods.
After the weather turns cold, if your pothos at home is by a window or in a drafty spot, we can move them to a warm place for care. Fellow pothos growers, to help pothos grow healthily even in cold weather, you must be careful with watering and fertilizing; do not be careless, otherwise all you may be left with is an empty pot!
