If you have some spare time now and then and aren't too busy, you can grow a few small flowers and plants in your own living space, on the balcony or terrace. Just pick ones that are simple and easy to care for. Looking at them every day, you'll see different stages of growth, with beautiful blooms, and your mood will improve a lot too. So which flowers are easy to keep alive and can keep growing on their own year after year?

As long as your home has some light and ventilation, many flowers and plants are very easy to keep alive, and they need hardly any time or effort to tend and care for. Xiaoya has grown quite a few sturdy ones on the balcony. Here are three flowers that have been grown for many years and are still growing on their own, blooming and growing year after year.

Plant these three beautiful flowers in autumn. They aren't afraid of the cold, they grow as soon as you drop them in a pot, and they sprout and bloom on their own year after year!

Rain lily (Zephyranthes). I don't remember which year I planted it. At first there were only one or two roots that looked like small scallions, given by someone else, and I planted them straight into a pot.

It gradually grew into a full pot on its own. At first I thought it only bloomed once or twice a year, but unexpectedly it has already bloomed more than ten times this year, lasting about a day or two each time. Sometimes it blooms even without rain.

Give it plenty of sun as usual, add a little water when the soil dries out, and give it more fertilizer in autumn, and it will bloom a lot.

Oxalis. At first I planted it with just a few small bulbs, and in less than a year the whole long planter was full. I just added a lot of river sand, so the soil was fairly loose and not prone to compacting.

It starts sprouting and putting out leaves in autumn and winter, and keeps blooming continuously through winter and spring. It's especially easy to keep alive.

After blooming, the leaves and flowers withered and I didn't bother with it. I planted something else in the pot, and then the next autumn it started sprouting and blooming again.

Lily. You only need to plant one or two bulbs in a pot. You can plant them in spring or autumn, cover them with a few centimeters of soil, and water however you like, just occasionally giving a little water. They will sprout in autumn and winter.

Then the following spring, big flower buds one after another will emerge, and the blooms are big, beautiful and fragrant. And from just one or two bulbs at the start, in a year the pot will produce many small bulbs, so you can divide them and plant several pots.

After blooming, don't dig them out of the pot either. They will sprout and bloom again the next year. They need almost no management at all.
