Friends who love growing flowers, those who often grow flowers surely know that for potted flowering plants, during the care process, there are two stages that are especially important and also prone to problems, namely getting through summer and getting through winter. In summer, flowers and potted plants need shade and ventilation, so the key to getting through winter is keeping warm. The temperature drops very quickly, and winter is almost here. How should flowers, potted plants and flowering plants get through the winter?

Growing flowers like this when it is cold, one small method, and flowering plants can still be vibrant in winter and get through the winter safely!

In winter, the care methods differ for different flowers and plants. For example, for some cold-sensitive and not cold-tolerant potted flowers and plants, such as Christmas cactus, lucky bamboo, pothos, money tree and kalanchoe, these common flowers and plants are all not very cold-tolerant, so before frost arrives, they must be moved indoors in time, inside the balcony, or into a greenhouse.

If they are cold-tolerant flowers and plants, for example begonia, wintersweet and Chinese rose, as long as the temperature is not especially, especially low, low to minus dozens of degrees, they can be directly placed on an open terrace or outdoors to get through the winter, and there is no problem.

Some flowers and plants have some cold tolerance, for example gardenia, camellia, spider plant and jade plant, but before the cold air arrives, they still need to be moved indoors, otherwise after a frost and cold wave, the leaves will all become limp. As long as they are placed indoors in a bright spot and the temperature stays above zero, there is no problem getting through the winter.

If the local temperature stays very low, there is actually a little trick, a small cold-protection measure, that is, we can cover a plastic bag over the flower pot, or we can make a homemade small cold frame or small greenhouse ourselves. All that is needed is a foam box, a few bamboo strips or wire pieces as supports, and a piece of plastic film.

Install the supports, then cover with the film, and the flowers and plants can comfortably get through the winter inside, and in spring they will grow vibrant again.

For succulents, in autumn they should be given plenty of light. The more sun they get, the stronger they grow, and the stronger their resistance to cold becomes. But before frost, they also need to be brought into a small greenhouse or an indoor warm, sunny spot.

For potted flowering plants and flowers kept at home, in winter, watering should be reduced, more sun should be given, no more fertilizing, and no transplanting or repotting. Because most have entered semi-dormancy or dormancy and do not need too much fertilizer and water.

Keep the flowers and plants at home like this, and they can still be lush and green in winter, in pretty good condition!
