Pothos meets a plastic bottle: roots grow like crazy and leaves get bigger than your palm

A few days ago, Huahua went to a friend's house and noticed quite a few empty plastic bottles saved up in her room. Only after asking did Huahua find out that these plastic bottles were being used to grow pothos! Pothos grown in plastic bottles not only develops thicker and thicker stems, but even the leaves become especially large. Hurry and see how it's done!
Tie a plastic bottle to your pothos and the leaves will grow as big as 10 palms!
Every time you see someone else's pothos pole looking big and dense, don't you get especially envious? But when it comes to doing it yourself, you shake your head: that won't work, I don't have a PVC pipe at home. Don't worry, today let's try making a pothos pole with a plastic bottle!

Steps:
1. First prepare the materials needed: an empty plastic bottle, a flower pot, pothos, etc. Cut off both the top and bottom of the plastic bottle, then poke holes in the bottle wall.
2. Prepare the soil. Soak coconut coir brick in water, mix it with perlite at a 2:1 ratio, then add one part leaf mold and stir evenly, and it becomes nutrient-rich potting soil!
3. Prepare a slightly larger flower pot, place the perforated plastic bottle in the middle of the pot, then lay some pine needles at the bottom of the pot, and fill in the prepared nutrient soil.
4. Take the pothos seedlings prepared in advance and gently insert them into the soil around the circle of the plastic bottle.
5. Find another empty plastic bottle, cut off the bottom of this bottle, then invert it into the first plastic bottle.
6. Add pine bark into the plastic bottle. If you want the pothos to grow more vigorously, you can also mix in some compound fertilizer granules.
7. Prepare palm fiber, wrap the plastic bottle completely with the palm fiber; about 2 layers is enough, and a pothos pole is done! Later, as the pothos vines keep growing longer and climbing upward, you can gradually add more plastic bottles.
8. During growth, the pothos aerial roots will keep rooting into the palm fiber and keep climbing upward. Moreover, as the pothos pole keeps growing, the pothos stems will become thicker and sturdier, and the leaves will also become bigger and bigger!
Add a little water to a plastic bottle and pothos roots will grow bright white!
Many flower lovers want to grow pothos, but what if they have no soil at home? Why not try hydroponics? Not only does it root quickly, it also takes up no space at all; placed casually on an office desk or similar spot, it can still grow vigorously!
Steps:
1. Cut an empty plastic bottle open from the middle, keep only the lower half, and the upper half can be discarded.
2. Cut a few sections of stems from the mother pothos plant, let the wounds dry slightly, and set aside.
3. Add about 2/3 clean water to the plastic bottle, drop the stems into the plastic bottle, and note that the lower ends of the stems must contact the water surface.
4. Basically, it only takes about 1 week for hydroponic pothos to root!

5. You can also cut open a section on the side of the plastic bottle, lay the bottle horizontally, then place the pothos stems horizontally into the plastic bottle so that the aerial roots of the pothos stems contact the water surface, and new roots will soon sprout too!

Add something to a plastic bottle and pothos roots grow super fast
!
Autumn is exactly the good time for cuttings. If you miss now, you can only wait until next year! And for cuttings you don't need any professional flower pot at all; a few plastic bottles will completely do the job!
Steps:
1. Cut sturdy stems from the mother pothos plant, cut the stems into small sections of 5-7cm, and each stem had best carry some aerial roots, so rooting is easier.
2. Prepare an empty plastic bottle, use scissors to cut the plastic bottle into two sections, then poke a few small holes in the bottle bottom for water drainage and air flow.
3. Fill the plastic bottle with perlite or loose, breathable nutrient soil, insert the pothos stems to be propagated directly into the plastic bottle, then place in
4. It basically takes only about 7-10 days for pothos propagated in a plastic bottle to root!
Isn't growing pothos in a plastic bottle super simple?
