How to grow a jade plant so it blooms? One little trick makes new leaves shoot up and the branches and foliage thrive

Jade plant, also known as doubanzhang, jingtianshu, and succulent Chinese evergreen, has thick fleshy leaves and belongs to the Crassulaceae family of succulents. Although it looks almost identical to the jade tree (Crassula ovata), there are still differences: the jade tree's leaves are not such a vivid green, and the edges have a red blush, while the jade plant's leaves are entirely green and a bit larger. Its leaves stay green all year round, and it is very easy to care for. Although many gardeners grow potted jade plants, they usually only produce leaves and rarely bloom. What exactly is going on?
If your jade plant won't bloom, try this method: it will vigorously push out new shoots, grow taller and flower
Everyone knows that growing a beautiful jade plant is actually very easy. You only need to pick a few leaves and do leaf cuttings, or take small branches and root them casually in potting soil, in spring or autumn. Within a dozen days or so they will grow roots and become small jade plant seedlings.
If you want the jade plant to produce pretty little flowers, then this freshly rooted seedling is still relatively small. A seedling rooted less than a year ago is not easy to flower; you must grow the seedling until it is lush and sturdy before it can bloom.
How can you make the jade plant grow lush branches and leaves and become sturdy and vigorous?First, the potting soil is very important. The soil must be fertile and airy, full of nutrients. You can add some leaf mold, peat soil, pine needle soil, and then add some vermiculite, coarse sand, river sand and so on. As the plant grows in size, change to a pot of the corresponding size; a slightly larger pot is better.
In summer, do not expose it to blazing sun; place it in a cool, ventilated spot so it can safely pass the summer. In winter, place it in a warm, sunny place where cold wind cannot reach, and reduce watering so it safely overwinters. At other times, give it as much sun as possible and water with fertilizer water once every half month, providing plenty of nutrients. In this way its new leaves and new shoots keep emerging, and it grows taller and stronger.
If you want the jade plant to bloom, there is a little trick: apart from winter and summer, if conditions allow, be sure to place it on a terrace outdoors for a period of care. Outdoor light is not blocked by glass, so the leaves more easily receive photosynthesis and grow healthier. With suitable temperatures, plenty of sun and sufficient fertilizer water, it is very easy to get it to bloom. It blooms much more easily than one kept indoors.
A jade plant generally grows for three or four years. Combined with this kind of outdoor care, when the crown reaches a diameter of one meter and it is tall enough and lush enough, flowering becomes especially easy.
When caring for a jade plant normally, besides keeping plenty of sunlight in winter, watering less, avoiding waterlogging, and using a semi-sandy fertile soil, it will gradually grow into an old trunk and bloom abundantly!
