Coconut shells are truly versatile for growing flowers: Aunt Zhang uses them as flower pots and flower fertilizer

Coconut shells are a "treasure" for growing flowers. Aunt Zhang uses them as "flower pots and flower fertilizer" - so versatile
Growing flowers has become a living habit for many people. Surely everyone can see that many friends and relatives around them, just like themselves, keep some flowers and plants at home, and tending them in idle moments can both cultivate the mind and relax the mood. Moreover, growing flowers is truly a field of knowledge; only by understanding flowers and knowing how to care for them can you grow lush and healthy potted plants.
Today I want to share with you our neighbor Aunt Zhang, who usually loves growing flowers very much and keeps all kinds of potted plants at home; of course, she also sums up her flower-growing experience in daily life, discovers all kinds of little flower-growing tips, and then tries them herself. Recently she used coconut shells to make flower pots and flower fertilizer. Flower pots made from coconut shells drain and breathe well; use them to grow money trees, spider plants, and moss rose - simple and delicate, and you also save on flower pots. She also smashes coconut shells and ferments them into flower fertilizer, used to grow clivia, succulents, and orchids - loose, breathable, and rich in nutrients.
Cut the coconut shell once to make a flower pot
Coconut shells are very common in the south, and are usually thrown away as household garbage. In fact, after processing, coconut shells also make very good flower pots. Just like our neighbor Aunt Zhang, cut off the top of the coconut shell, then drill a drainage hole in the bottom, cut off the outer skin of the coconut shell, and make it into a simple flower pot.
Then plant money trees, spider plants, and moss rose in the pot, and you can place them on the balcony or hang them up; using coconut shells to grow flowers works because it is a wooden flower vessel, so it drains and breathes well; and during the process of growing flowers, the coconut shell naturally ferments, providing nutrients for the plant's root growth. Using it to grow flowers achieves multiple benefits at once.
Crush the coconut shell and ferment it into organic fertilizer
Coconut shells are also a very good flower fertilizer. The coir pith we usually buy for growing succulents is fertilizer made from processed coconut shells; using it to grow flowers is loose and breathable, and root rot will not occur; so when you have coconut shells at home, you can crush them, then ferment them fully, and make them into oxidized organic fertilizer.
Generally, add water to the coconut shells, put them in a bag, and leave them outdoors to ferment for one month. When you see the coconut shells turn black and loose, it means they have fermented fully and can be used to grow flowers. Generally use 1 part coconut shells, 1 part garden soil, 1 part river sand, and 1 part humus soil; after fully mixing, use it to grow orchids, clivia, and succulents with ample nutrients.
In fact, for people who grow flowers, many things in life can be used as flower fertilizer or flower pots. Just like expired milk at home, after fermentation it can be used as flower fertilizer; you can also place nut shells from home at the bottom of flower pots as a drainage layer, which can both play a role in drainage and breathability, and later ferment into flower fertilizer, providing nutrients for the plant's roots.
