These 2 kinds of "fruit pits" tossed into a pot sprout in 10 days, grow into potted plants in 2 months, and bear abundant fruit the next year
More and more people love growing flowers, and many gardening enthusiasts keep all kinds of flowers and plants at home, which not only makes the home warm, natural and full of life, but also purifies the air and benefits the health of the family. For example, many gardening enthusiasts keep pothos, spider plants, money trees, lucky bamboo and anthuriums at home.
Besides growing flowers and plants at home, many people use fruit pits to grow potted plants. For example, many gardening enthusiasts use the seeds of dragon fruit, lemon, orange, lychee and longan to grow small potted plants, and the germination rate is very high. They sprout and grow into small potted plants within a few days, and some can even bloom and bear fruit. So today I will share two common kinds of fruit pits with you. Toss them into a flower pot and they will sprout in 10 days, grow into potted plants in two months, and with proper care afterward, they can bloom and bear fruit for you to pick and eat.
Passion fruit
Passion fruit is very easy to grow. Generally, you just take the seeds directly from the ripe pulp and plant them in a flower pot, and they will sprout!
1. Take the seeds out of the passion fruit pulp, wash them clean, then soak them in 30°C warm water for one day to promote germination;
2. Prepare a flower pot and soil. Just use a mixed potting soil for flowers to plant passion fruit. Sprinkle the treated seeds onto the soil in the pot, then cover the top with a layer of fine sand;
3. Put the planted pot in a cool place for a week, and the passion fruit will sprout. After sprouting, put the pot in a spot on the balcony with scattered light for normal care, and the plant will grow quickly.
When caring for a passion fruit potted plant, apart from winter, you can keep the pot outdoors in the other seasons, which will speed up the plant's growth. Generally, when you grow passion fruit, it will bloom and bear fruit after one year. It can serve as an ornamental potted plant, and you can also pick the fruit you grew yourself.
Fig
It is currently the season when figs are abundantly available on the market. You can take out the seeds of a fig and plant them in a flower pot, and they will also grow into a nice fig plant.
1. Take the seeds out of the fig pulp, rinse them clean, then soak them in 30°C warm water for one day to promote seed germination;
2. Choose a suitable flower pot and potting soil, preferably moist soil. After sprinkling the seeds on the soil surface, cover them with a layer of fine sand and put the pot in a cool indoor place. Generally, fig seeds will germinate in about 7 days and grow small sprouts;
3. Once the fig potted plant has sprouted, you can put it in a well-lit spot on the balcony for care. If the seedlings are too dense, you can thin them out or divide them. Generally, the plant will bloom and bear fruit after it has grown for two years.
Fig potted plants are relatively easy to care for. Treat them like woody flowering plants, and it is best to keep them outdoors; they can also be kept outdoors in winter. Generally, the plant will start bearing fruit in summer, and the fruit will ripen in autumn. Of course, during care, you should also prune the plant every spring to make the whole plant shape more attractive.
