Some friends especially love keeping cats at home. If you grow some flowers and plants at home, they can easily be ruined by cats. Many cats like to push the plants aside and sleep in the flowerpot themselves; as soon as they see a container, they want to claim it as their own. The methods below can keep cats away.

1. Citrus peel

You can place a few pieces of dried orange peel on the soil surface, which can effectively keep cats away, because most cats dislike the smell of citrus.

You can choose lemon peel or orange peel, and be sure to replace them regularly so the scent stays present; this can also keep pests away and prevent fungal infections.

2. Placing stones

You can place some sharp stones on the soil surface to keep kittens away, because kittens dislike the rough feeling. If you cannot find stones, you can use shells or broken pottery pieces instead.

3. Granular stone

You can spread some small pebbles on the soil surface, or use sphagnum moss or other granular stone instead. You can also place some pine cones on top of the soil. All of these methods can keep cats away.

4. Growing cat grass

You can prepare some separate pots and directly buy some barley grass or wheat grass; these are the most common cat grass on the market and are very easy to grow.

Prepare a container with good drainage, then keep the soil moist, spray water frequently, and place it in an environment with scattered light. Wheat grass will grow quickly, and the kittens will be attracted to these pots. They will eat the cat grass instead of destroying other plants.

5. Growing cat-repelling plants

The following plants can drive cats away, such as the common rosemary; most cats hate it. When caring for rosemary, be careful to avoid frequent watering, and keep it in a spot with plenty of light.

You can also grow lemon balm, geraniums, and cacti. These plants are all strongly disliked by cats; they do not like these rough leaves with their scent.

You can also plant some catnip nearby. Cats strongly dislike this plant. Of course, the methods above may not necessarily work, after all, every cat has a somewhat different personality.
