The dining table is a great place for family and friends to gather. Besides placing various decorative bottles, you can also grow some indoor plants that match the dining room, or pair them with some cut flowers.

When choosing indoor plants for the dining table, you must be careful: not all indoor potted plants can be placed on the dining table. You need to consider whether the plant is toxic, and also consider light and air humidity.

1. Drought-tolerant plants

If there is a bright light environment beside your dining table, or appropriate scattered light, then growing some succulents or cacti is a good choice.

But avoid growing spiny cactus plants; you can also choose some varieties with softer spines. For succulents, choose some edible ones, such as the common Graptopetalum paraguayense, Sedum 'Autumn Joy' and Sedum adolphii. You can spread some small gravel on the soil surface. During cultivation, there is no need to water frequently. If there is not much sunlight, watering once every half a month or once a month is fine.

2. Begonia

Begonias have a great many varieties, and some foliage-type varieties are very suitable for growing on the dining table. They have very charming colorful leaves. Begonias like a warm and humid environment year-round. The maintenance location should remain ventilated and bright, and they do not need too much light. They can grow well in a bright environment. Indoors, watering once every 1-2 weeks is generally enough.

3. Heartleaf philodendron

Heartleaf philodendron is very suitable for growing as a potted plant. Unlike pothos, it has strong drought tolerance and can grow well in low light and shady positions. You can wait until the soil is completely dry before watering thoroughly. Its leaves do not easily turn yellow. The minimum maintenance temperature only needs to stay above 7 degrees.

4. Snake plant

Snake plant is very suitable for placing on the dining table. It easily becomes the focus of the whole scene. It is a very easy-care plant that can tolerate shady and dry environments and does not need frequent watering. If there is too much water, its roots rot easily.

Snake plant placed on the dining table is very charming. You can choose some varieties with relatively short leaves.

5. Golden pothos

Golden pothos is a tropical foliage plant that can maintain a verdant state year-round. It likes to grow in bright places. Keep the maintenance location ventilated and bright, and maintain appropriate air humidity. It can grow well even without light. However, be careful to protect it from the cold in winter. The minimum maintenance temperature should stay above 5 degrees, and during the growing season the soil can be kept moist.

6. African violet

African violet can also grow well indoors. It has low light requirements and can bloom with just a little scattered light each day. When watering, just pour water directly into the soil; there is no need to water frequently. The maintenance environment should remain warm year-round, and the minimum maintenance temperature should stay above 7 degrees.
