Autumn is a great time for taking plant cuttings: the climate is suitable, roots form quickly and the survival rate is high. Below we introduce the cutting methods for 3 kinds of flowers, so you don't need to spend money buying them!

Kalanchoe

Take healthy, disease-free branches of kalanchoe as cuttings; it is best to choose flowering stems, as they have more nutrients and root faster. Keep only 2 pairs of leaves at the top, and place them in a cool place to let the wounds dry.

Insert the prepared cuttings into the soil and water thoroughly once, keeping the soil slightly moist.

Place them in a cool, well-ventilated spot; they will root in about 15 days, and 1 month after rooting they can be planted into flower pots.

Hibiscus

Hibiscus is suitable for cutting in autumn and roots easily. Choose healthy young shoots; after treating the wounds, insert them into a flower pot or into sterile, fertilizer-free plain soil.

Water thoroughly and keep the potting soil moist; roots will grow in about 20 days.

Note that after hibiscus cuttings have grown roots, you should pinch off the growing tips in time to encourage the plant to produce side branches, and in winter you should also pay attention to keeping it warm.

Christmas cactus

Choose healthy branches as cuttings, cut them into segments, keep 2 nodes, dip the end that goes into the soil in rooting powder, and let the wounds dry before use.

Moisten the prepared soil with a spray bottle, insert the branches into the soil, water thoroughly again, cover with plastic film, and poke a few holes in it.

After that, open the film about every 4 days and spray with water; in about 2 weeks they will root and sprout.
