Jasmine blooms are beautiful and its fragrance is fresh, making it very appealing. Many people keep a pot of it at home, and there are many ways to take jasmine cuttings, but if you want jasmine cuttings to root quickly with a high survival rate, you need a few small tips. An experienced flower grower taught one trick; once you learn it, you can easily make jasmine root quickly. What is this trick?
1. Preparation before taking jasmine cuttings
Before taking jasmine cuttings, prepare soil suitable for jasmine growth. You can use coarse vermiculite or river sand, perlite and acidic sandy soil; this kind of soil is both nutrient-rich and breathable. When choosing a pot, it is best to use one with holes in the bottom.
2. Select suitable branches
From the original jasmine branches, select a section of a one-year-old branch that has already flowered, leave 2 leaves on the branch, and also keep more than 2 bud nodes on the branch, so that new buds can grow after cutting. If the leaves on the branch are too large, you can cut off half with scissors; this can reduce water evaporation and leaf photosynthesis, and improve the survival rate of jasmine cuttings.
3. Cutting
When taking jasmine cuttings, you can make a hole in the middle of the potting soil, then insert the selected jasmine branch into the hole, bury one third of the branch in the soil, then press the soil around the branch. You can also insert several branches into the pot. After cutting, water thoroughly, and place the pot in a cool, ventilated place for care.
