Although many friends have grown variegated spider plants with golden edges, green-leaf spider plants, and golden-heart spider plants, they may not have grown curly-leaf spider plants. Although its leaves look very much like the golden-heart spider plant, one has straight leaves and the other has curly ones, which looks especially interesting, cute and good-looking, just like curled hair after a perm. In fact, curly-leaf spider plants are also very easy to grow, and you can easily propagate a pot yourself, and it is very easy to grow into vigorous, thriving growth.

This pretty spider plant: put one stem in a pot, it grows roots in ten days, one pot becomes many, and it easily fills the pot

You do not have to spend a single cent to buy this curly-leaf spider plant, because even if you do not know how to grow flowers or take cuttings, you can still propagate it yourself.

You just need to go to a nearby flower-growing friend, or a place where a friend or classmate has grown this spider plant, and pick a few runners from the stems.

Here is a little trick: if it is the short white kind with aerial roots, it roots faster; if it has no aerial roots, it can still survive through cutting propagation, only the rooting speed is a little slower.

After picking them off, prepare small flower pots. At first, do not use too large a pot, because it is not easy to control watering. If you water too much, it cannot absorb so much water for the time being, and it is easy to have water accumulate and cause root rot and leaf rot, so a small pot with a diameter of just over ten cm is enough. For the soil, use soft, fertile leaf mold mixed with garden soil and coarse sand, etc., gently press the runners of the curly-leaf spider plant into the soil. If there are aerial roots, cover the aerial roots with soil; if not, cover the lower part of the runners with soil, and make sure they are in firm contact with the soil, so that watering will not wash them out.

If you propagate in the weather of this October, water promptly when you see the soil dry, and you can place it in a ventilated place with scattered light. Generally, it grows roots in just over ten days. It is easy to tell whether it has rooted: gently pull the leaf, and if it feels somewhat laborious and does not move, that proves it has already rooted. When the leaves are relatively plump and begin to grow tender new leaves, that proves it has fully survived and can be transplanted into a large pot.

By propagating and planting with small runners like this, you can grow as many pots as you want. As long as the base fertilizer is applied sufficiently and the potting soil is sufficiently fertile, airy and loose, it can grow to fill the pot in a few months, with curly leaves that are green and glossy and especially good-looking.

In winter, move it indoors to a warm, sunny position and reduce watering, and it can safely overwinter.
