Today I will share with you how to grow a potted plant from passion fruit seeds: they sprout in a week, grow into a dense potted plant in a few months, and bear fruit in a year.
Passion fruit is a tropical fruit, rich in various nutrients, and a very good fruit to eat. Autumn happens to be the season when passion fruit ripens, and it floods the market. When eating it, you can wash the seeds clean and plant them in a flower pot. Growing a passion fruit potted plant makes an ornamental pot, and it can also bloom and bear fruit, and the passion fruit it produces can be eaten too.
How to grow passion fruit
1. Take the passion fruit seeds out of the pulp. After washing them clean, put the seeds in warm water at 30°C and soak them for 12 hours;
2. Prepare a flower pot and soil. You can use a mixed potting soil for growing passion fruit. Take 1 part garden soil, 1 part river sand and 2 parts humus soil, mix them thoroughly and put the mix into the flower pot. Then evenly scatter the passion fruit seeds on the surface of the soil in the pot and cover them with a 5 mm thick layer of fine sand;
3. Put the pot in a cool place indoors and do not water it. In about seven days you will see the passion fruit seeds sprout, with small seedlings pushing up out of the soil.
While growing the passion fruit seedlings, you need to put them on the balcony to receive scattered light, which helps the seedlings grow quickly. The temperature for passion fruit to get through the winter is about 15-20°C, so in winter it is best to keep it on a warm balcony so the plant can get through the winter smoothly.
After spring arrives, you can give the passion fruit nitrogen fertilizer to promote rapid growth of the plant. In summer, the passion fruit will open its flowers and then begin to bear fruit. Keep the passion fruit potted plant on the balcony or outdoors, and it can grow quickly and produce fruit. With normal care, passion fruit yields very heavily, enough to meet a family's needs for eating.
Passion fruit ripens every year from October to November. Once ripe, the fruit can be picked and eaten, which is both convenient and money-saving. It is autumn right now, so you can try growing lemon trees, orange trees and dragon fruit trees yourself; their germination rates are all especially high, and the potted plants are very beautiful and lovely.
