Environmental Animation Film Festival presents: The Secret of the Candy Factory and Brother Haze Is Here

Director Chi Po-lin, who loved Taiwan, let everyone feel the beauty and the wounds of Taiwan's environment through "Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above." Over the past decade, environmental destruction and human survival have become the subject of many documentaries, because today's pollution is the reality of children's survival tomorrow. So how do we help children understand together the survival situation they will face in the future? In addition to green picture books, our organization is specially screening two award-winning animated films suitable for families to watch and discuss environmental issues, including "The Secret of the Candy Factory," which won at the 2018 Busan International Kids and Youth Film Festival in South Korea, and "Brother Haze Is Here," which won the 2018 Environmental Art and Film Award.

We have specially invited the team behind the first-prize winner at the Busan Film Festival, the team from Xinghua Elementary School in Mailiao Township, Yunlin County, to hold a post-screening discussion, to talk together about how to turn local environmental issues into wonderful animation that sparks audience reflection. Families in Taichung are invited to come together to enjoy their work and hear about their wonderful creative process.
