Sister Li has a "trick": just water it with "water" and it grows far too vigorously!

What is Sister Li's trick?

Actually it is very simple: just water the pothos more with waste water. What kind of waste water is it? It is actually the water from washing vegetables and the water from blanching vegetables in daily life, both of which can be used to water pothos, and they are much better than ordinary water. After watering the pothos with them, the pothos can grow especially vigorously.

There is another kind of water, and that is rice washing water. Rice washing water is a particularly good way to reuse waste water. Rice washing water contains a large amount of nitrogen and other nutrients, and is especially suitable for foliage potted plants like pothos. However, to use rice washing water, it needs to be fermented and decomposed. To reduce the odor, flower lovers add some chopped orange peel when fermenting, then add a little insecticide, put it into a plastic bottle, and fill it up.

Place it in a warm, ventilated spot to ferment, and it can be used in about one month. When using it, take the clear liquid on top, mix it with clean water at a ratio of 1:100, and water twice a month, and the pothos will grow with green leaves and strong stems.

Other care for pothos

If you want pothos to grow well, then other aspects of care cannot be neglected. Let's take a look!

1. Light

Pothos is a shade-loving plant. Many flower lovers, for home decoration, like to hang pothos on windowsills or keep it on a south-facing balcony. Pothos grown this way always has yellowing leaves, gets smaller and smaller, and grows slowly, gradually losing its ornamental value. In fact, the most suitable place for pothos is a north-facing windowsill or a spot at home with a bit of indirect light. As long as there is indirect light and ventilation, it is fine.

2. Watering

Pothos likes a moist environment, so compared with other potted plants, pothos needs more water. Generally, water it about once every 5 days, but note that water must not accumulate in the pot. If you can spray the pothos leaves with water every day, then the pothos will grow more and more vigorously. And it can make the pothos leaves emerald green and glossy.

Propagating pothos

Propagating pothos is actually especially simple. You only need to cut off a section of pothos stem and stick it into soil and it will live, with a survival rate of over 90%. If propagated in water, the survival rate is 100%. Water propagation followed by switching to soil is the best way to grow pothos. If flower lovers want to propagate pothos themselves by cuttings, it is recommended to do it this way.
