Lycoris has no leaves?

Lycoris does not actually have no leaves. Think of its other name - the red spider lily: flower and leaf can never meet in this life or the next. So when you see it blooming, its leaves have already withered away~

As for the broader Lycoris group, we divide it into two categories based on the season when it produces leaves. One category produces leaves in autumn, such as the golden spider lily and rose Lycoris, which only grow leaves after the flowering period.

The other category produces leaves in spring, such as Chinese Lycoris, spring Lycoris, fragrant Lycoris and so on. They grow leaves in spring, wither in early summer, and bloom in late summer to early autumn.

Grow Lycoris this way and it will rebloom every year

When propagating Lycoris, we can wait until the flowers fade each autumn, dig the underground bulbs out of the soil, break off the small bulbs that have grown, and plant them.

It has no special requirements for soil - it is a plant that can tolerate slightly alkaline soil. When planting, just make sure the soil is loose and has good drainage.

For watering, follow the principle of watering when dry and letting it dry out between waterings, adjusting the amount of water according to the plant's different stages. Before flowering, meet its water needs to encourage blooming, and gradually reduce water during the dormant period.

For light, Lycoris can tolerate both sunlight and shady environments, but to keep the plant growing well, you should still give it plenty of indirect light.

Lycoris is currently in its flowering period. Those of you growing Lycoris at home can, after the flowers fade, cut off the flower stalks and apply a light dose of organic fertilizer.
