Golden autumn October, radiant with color.
Zhongshan City, the hometown of Lingnan bonsai art, keeps delivering one wonderful event after another!
Following the opening of the Bonsai Masterpieces Exhibition of the International Bonsai Association (BCI) on September 28 at the Dengdu Bonsai Garden in Guzhen Town, the 2018 (Zhongshan) Huangpu Town National Day Dragon Boat Culture Festival and the "Pujiang Ancient Charm" Huangpu Bonsai Association Members' Bonsai Masterpieces Exhibition opened on September 30.
On that day, the autumn air was crisp, the sunlight bright, and the warm breeze intoxicating. Li Huajun, member of the Party Committee of Huangpu Town; Zeng Anchang, president of the Guangdong Provincial Bonsai Association; Yu Jingtu, head of the expert group of the Guangdong Provincial Bonsai Association; Zhang Huajiang, Zhang Yuzhen, Han Xuenian, Huang Yuanying, Deng Kongjia, Wang Jinglin, Xiong Zhirong, Chen Yunyuan, He Zhuoguang, and Lin Weizhan, vice presidents of the Guangdong Provincial Bonsai Association; Huang Jiuwei, president of the Guangzhou Bonsai Association, and He Qinghong, secretary-general; as well as more than one hundred guests from within and outside the province, bonsai friends from neighboring friendly bonsai associations, and member representatives of the host Huangpu Bonsai Association, attended the exhibition opening ceremony to join in the grand occasion.
The Huangpu Bonsai Association can be called a major center of bonsai art in Zhongshan City. The association was founded more than twenty years ago, has more than eighty members, and its members' works are exquisite and its strength substantial, making it a leader in the industry.
Let the works speak, let strength speak. Under the leadership of the leadership team headed by President Li Fuxiang and Secretary-General Lin Yinghua, the Huangpu Bonsai Association mobilized its members and united everyone in a common effort. All bonsai works in this exhibition are members' works, nearly two hundred pots, including outstanding works that have won major awards domestically and abroad, including tree-stump bonsai, landscape bonsai, water-and-land bonsai, small and miniature bonsai, etc. It is a major review of the artistic works of the Huangpu Bonsai Association in recent years. The exhibition was held from September 30 to October 6 at the town center square, adding luster to the 2018 Huangpu Town National Day Dragon Boat Culture Festival and offering the public a visual feast during the long holiday.
After the opening ceremony, the attending guests and bonsai friends entered the venue to visit the exhibition and were full of praise for the exhibited works, giving them high acclaim.

This evaluation adopted a scoring system. All judges and supervisors were externally hired, with no personnel from the organizing units participating. The judging committee carried out the review work openly, fairly, and impartially. No unit or individual gave any pressure or guidance to the judges or supervisors. Five judges independently scored each exhibited work, and the supervisors oversaw the entire process. After the evaluation results came out, the scoring details of all judges were publicly disclosed at the exhibition venue under a real-name system, open to inspection and inquiry.
