In recent years, the relationship between China and many African countries has been very good. Several friends around me have been to Africa to take part in local infrastructure construction. The diligent farming habits passed down in China's bones have also been brought to Africa. Everyone knows that Africa is a relatively poor and backward place, and many African friends do not know how to farm. You cannot say they are lazy; rather, they simply do not have this habit of working hard and striving. After Chinese farmers arrived in Africa, they not only helped build local facilities, but also brought many native vegetable seeds and started growing vegetables on the African continent.

Let's not even talk about ordinary green vegetables, potatoes and the like. Today I want to talk about a rather special plant: the sunflower. Everyone knows that our country has many kinds of cooking oil, including rapeseed oil, soybean oil and sunflower seed oil. Among them, the one that is more drought-tolerant and easier to grow is the sunflower. Sunflowers have a fairly high yield, with sunflower seeds neatly arranged one by one on the head. When farmers from our country brought sunflowers to Africa, African friends all found it funny. Why? Because in their view, sunflower seeds were something for birds to eat. They did not understand what the point was of Chinese people bringing this to plant. Were they feeding birds?

In fact, these sunflowers were meant for pressing oil. Think about it: when you are stationed in Africa, it is for several years at a time, and it is impossible to bring so much cooking oil from the motherland. Africans eat simply, usually mainly animal fats, and some do not even eat oil, so they could only be self-sufficient. The oil pressed from sunflower seeds is fragrant and rich in nutrition. After Africans tasted it, they were very excited and repeatedly praised the Chinese for being smart. Many people followed our Chinese farmers to learn how to grow sunflowers and how to press oil, which can also be considered as having promoted the local agricultural planting industry.

In fact, the locals are not lazy; they truly just do not understand how to make use of the advantages of the local land. After Chinese farmers went there, they told them how to cultivate the land and plant crops, which can also be considered a good deed. Now quite a few farmers in Africa have also begun to grow sunflowers, use them to press oil and make food. I wonder what thoughts you have after seeing this?
