An orchid potted plant grew 2 cm overnight, making one anxious; wife: your son is the best one to ask!
Vigorous orchid growth is the heartfelt wish of every orchid grower. It not only saves us worry and time, but also brings a sense of success and a trace of comfort. Growing orchids is a way to calm the mind, cultivate character, and enrich one's spare time. This is because orchids are a pure and elegant flower of noble character, with lofty and fine qualities, as friends who love growing orchids know well from experience.
However, I personally prefer growing Cymbidium goeringii, because its leaves look grand and elegant, giving people a distinctive temperament. But lately I have always been unable to feel happy, because several pots of Cymbidium goeringii I grow have shown runaway growth, and the fastest-growing pot actually grew 2 cm in one night, which is worrying.
As it happened, I went to Chengdu on a business trip and came back after three or four days, and it should not have grown this fast. I observed the orchids carefully and did not find any obvious signs. So I asked my wife, and she said, I do not know either; for something like this you need your son to explain, so ask him properly, and maybe he will tell you the technique!
So, when my 7-year-old son finished school and I went to pick him up, I asked him in a gentler way, and in the end he told the truth. It turned out that the day before I left on my business trip, he read the fairy tale and fable storybook I had bought him, and one story in it was "pulling up seedlings to help them grow." As a result, he used my several pots of orchids for an experiment and tried it himself. Fortunately, he did not have enough strength, otherwise my orchid leaves would also have been seriously damaged.
Later, his mother saw him and quickly stopped him. My wife, who does not understand orchid care, saw that my orchids had been pulled up, so she added a layer of the orchid soil I had prepared earlier around the orchids. Little did she know, good intentions led to a bad result: the orchid roots had already loosened and were no longer firm. Fortunately, I discovered this in time, so I dug out the orchid soil again, rearranged and firmed the loosened orchid roots, and then added some orchid nutrient soil, which finally let me breathe a sigh of relief.
For this reason, I gained another new insight: friends who have young children at home must never place their favorite potted plants too low, in case the children pick leaves and pull up grass, and then play with them some more; even the best orchid variety will then only leave one gazing at the sky and sighing. So, friends who love growing orchids, have you overlooked this point?
