Vegetable Planting Schedule: A Full-Year Guide to Sowing by Month

Every day you lie on your bed holding your phone, scrolling through other people's videos.
You watch them moving through the morning dew to pick fresh vegetables, bending down to smell fragrant flowers, walking slowly and gracefully through the morning hours. On top of that, she can hold her own in the living room and in the kitchen, be a good wife and mother, and be a decisive female boss.
And on the other end of the phone, you are filled with envy: "She lives so beautifully. If I also had a yard, if I also had a perfect opportunity, if I also had money, I would definitely plant vegetables and fruits for all four seasons."
No matter what, first give yourself a chance, because living beautifully is truly beautiful. The editor will now give you the vegetable schedule; look at your small yard and plan accordingly, plant some flowers, plant some vegetables.
Types of Vegetables
(1) Heat-loving typeNot frost-tolerant. Such as: tomato, eggplant, green pepper, sweet potato, peanut, green bean, edamame, various common beans, watermelon, pumpkin, cucumber, bottle gourd, bitter melon, sponge gourd, melon, amaranth, water spinach, corn, taro, sesame, sunflower, water spinach, etc.;
(2) Cold-loving typeNot heat-tolerant. Seedlings need cool weather, and frost can improve flavor at maturity. Such as: napa cabbage, white radish, mustard greens, cabbage, head cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, turnip, potato, lettuce, celtuce, carrot, celery, beet, spinach, celery, cilantro, baby bok choy, Shanghai bok choy, onion, scallion, Chinese chives, etc.;
(3) Cold-hardy typeCan overwinter, such as: broad bean, pea, rapeseed, asparagus, shepherd's purse, etc.
Heat-loving vegetables: plant them in spring after the frost has passed, when the weather warms up and the temperature is stable. Slow-growing heat-loving vegetables should be planted earlier; some may need to be started in a greenhouse before the frost has passed to ensure enough time to mature. As for fast-growing heat-loving vegetables, such as water spinach and amaranth, they can be planted from spring all the way to late summer and early autumn.
Cold-loving vegetables can be planted in both autumn and winter in frost-free areas; in frost-prone areas, they should be planted in late summer and early autumn to ensure they mature before frost. In cold regions, they can also be planted in spring, but they need to be started in a greenhouse first and then transplanted outdoors. Fast-maturing cold-loving vegetables, such as cherry radish, baby bok choy, Shanghai bok choy, and lettuce, can be planted in spring in both the south and the north.
Cold-hardy vegetables are very cold-tolerant during the seedling stage, but they need warm weather to grow and mature. So they are generally planted some time before the first frost, allowing them to grow seedlings and overwinter. In cold winters, the seedlings will not freeze to death, but they will almost stop growing, then continue growing after the weather warms up the following spring.
