Visiting the flower market in late September, these flowers are blooming beautifully, and a large pot costs less than 30 yuan.

National Day is almost here. Do you feel excited just thinking about it? Have you all planned your National Day trips? As someone with a thin wallet who is crazy only about flowers, there is only one thing to do during the upcoming National Day holiday: plant flowers, plant flowers, plant flowers! Before the traffic jams arrive, Qiu Ma will take everyone for a stroll through the flower market and pick out some favorite plants to take home for National Day!
A warm reminder to all flower lovers: before choosing flowers, besides buying according to your own preferences, another very important point is that you must choose based on your actual home care environment. For example, if your home has poor light but all the flowers you choose are light-loving, then in the end, don't ask why your own flowers won't grow well.
Without further ado, let's get straight to the flowers. These are all fairly seasonal and affordable, shared with fellow flower lovers!
This pot of Siam tulip (Curcuma alismatifolia) has beautiful flower colors and a very elegant flower shape. Its only drawback is that the flowering period is not long enough, about one month or so. It can be cared for in a bright indoor spot. These past two days the price is around 35 yuan per plant, of course in the original plastic pot. Buy a pot and take it home, then repot it yourself and it's fine.
Autumn and winter are the peak season for all kinds of orchids. Flower lovers who like orchids should not miss them. A pot placed at home with a delicate fragrance is very beautiful, but the price is on the higher side. In large flower markets, the retail price is basically around 80 per pot. The price of orchids is determined by the number of flower spikes.
Lantana (Lantana camara) loves light. There are purple series and multicolored series, and the flowering period is especially long. My own pot has basically been blooming continuously from spring until now. However, remember that it loves light, extremely loves light. When light is insufficient, it tends to bloom weakly or not bloom at all.
Looking at chrysanthemums this big, don't you really want to take a pot home? They are truly bigger than a washbasin, trimmed into very beautiful spherical shapes, priced at about 35-40 per plant. The colors are really festive. As a perennial herbaceous plant, buy one this year, and after the flowers fade, plant it in the ground. By next year you'll find you can get a whole patch of chrysanthemums. Of course, for chrysanthemums, light is also truly very important, and they are not afraid of freezing. I haven't tried it in the north, but in the south's winter, they can spend it outdoors casually.
As a flagship flower during the Spring Festival, cyclamen (Cyclamen persicum) is likewise popular. It's just that cyclamen in this season is mostly produced in greenhouse sheds from other places. During the period when it adapts to the local environment, it easily develops yellow leaves. So when buying, it is recommended to choose local varieties. Depending on the size of the plant, the price is about 30 per pot. When caring for cyclamen, note that it can tolerate drought, and you must not water too much, otherwise it will rot its roots in no time.
Flower lovers who usually like lilies should not miss this kind of potted lily. The price of the potted plant is not far from buying a bunch of fresh-cut lilies, but its vitality is definitely longer than that of cut lilies.
Autumn is also the planting season for all kinds of bulbs. For example, during this National Day, we can plant some hyacinths ourselves. There are all kinds of colors, and the price is very lovely too. On average, one bulb costs about 5 yuan. The important thing is that planting them is not difficult at all, and even beginners can easily handle it. Plant them now, and they will bloom around the Spring Festival.
The sun-tolerant blue plumbago (Plumbago auriculata) has always been my favorite. It very easily gives you that bursting-with-blooms look. Blue plumbago in this season is much cheaper than in summer. Smaller plants can basically be bought for around 20.
The above pictures were taken in late September at a large flower market in Chengdu. Prices are for reference only. If purchased at a local flower shop, the price will definitely be a bit higher. After all, wholesale market prices are absolutely more favorable than retail. Fellow flower lovers, National Day is here, let's plant flowers happily together!
