Lazy Plant Recommendations: These Potted Plants Can Survive Months Without Watering

If you often forget to water your plants, or don't want to manage them regularly, but still love having potted plants at home, then the following flowers are great choices. They are extremely drought-tolerant and don't need frequent care, and can even survive if you forget to water them for one or two months.
1. Dracaena fragrans (Cornstalk Dracaena)
Dracaena fragrans is a large green plant that prefers a sunny spot and a warm, dry environment year-round. It is also suitable for growing indoors in bright light, placed directly in a ventilated spot with good light, and can grow well even without direct sunlight every day. However, be careful not to water it frequently, as the roots rot easily. You can wait until the soil is completely dry before watering. In winter, you still need to control watering for it to survive.
2. Aloe vera
If aloe vera is kept in a spot with plenty of sunlight, it needs regular watering to avoid the soil staying dry for too long, otherwise the leaves will curl, develop dry tips, or even wither. But if kept indoors in bright light, you need to control watering, otherwise it will cause root rot. When watering, do not pour water on the leaves or the center of the leaves, otherwise the leaves will rot easily.
3. Kalanchoe daigremontiana (Mother of Thousands)
Kalanchoe daigremontiana, also called Bryophyllum daigremontianum, is an extremely easy-care plant that can grow even in very poor soil, though it should be planted in well-draining sandy soil to avoid waterlogging. It has extremely strong heat and drought tolerance, and can grow well even if left unattended for months. After several years of care, it may even have a chance to bloom.
4. Agave
Agave is an ornamental plant with very pointed, very thick, very hard leaves. It generally needs more than 30 years before it has a chance to bloom.
Don't assume that all agave plants are very tall. Some agave varieties are very short and are suitable for growing in a flower pot. They can be kept in a spot with plenty of sunlight or bright light, but if kept indoors, watering should be properly controlled.
5. Hylocereus undatus (Dragon Fruit Cactus)
Hylocereus undatus is a very common cactus plant. It is actually the dragon fruit plant. It is suitable for growing in a larger ceramic pot. Cultivation requires loose, breathable, well-draining sandy soil. The growing environment should be ventilated and have good light. It prefers fairly ample sunlight, and can also grow well in bright light.
To care for Hylocereus undatus, maintain a warm and dry environment year-round and avoid frost damage. The minimum care temperature should be kept above 5 degrees.
6. Beaucarnea recurvata (Ponytail Palm)
Beaucarnea recurvata is a tropical plant originally from Africa. It likes to grow in sunny, dry places. It can also grow in places with no water year-round. It is very suitable as an indoor potted plant, and can grow well in semi-shade or bright light without frequent watering.
Beaucarnea recurvata has extremely low water needs because its roots store a great deal of water. It can survive even without watering for three months.
However, Beaucarnea recurvata is afraid of the cold. The minimum care temperature should be kept above 7 degrees. In winter, it should be moved indoors to avoid frost damage.
