In today's society, people's living standards are gradually rising, and they are gradually starting to pay attention to the quality of everyday life. When they have nothing to do, they like to keep a few pots of flowers and plants at home; they are highly ornamental and can also purify the indoor air, which is a win-win good thing, especially now that it is autumn, with a gentle breeze, it is exactly a good season for growing flowers.

Everyone is surely familiar with the Chinese rose (Rosa chinensis). Walking along the roadside on ordinary days, you can see one or two blooms. Not only are its flowers beautiful in shape and rich in color, but even its fragrance is pleasant to smell. Generally, for propagating Chinese roses, we choose cuttings. The weather is cool now, which is just right for cuttings, but for some unknown reason, root rot or failure to sprout often occurs during cuttings. Have you ever had this happen?

Actually, when this situation occurs, we can solve it by making a "propagator" ourselves at home. Generally, when we take cuttings, we directly insert the previously prepared branches into the soil, while a propagator uses water to help rooting, so the survival rate of the cuttings will be much higher.

To make the propagator, we only need a small plastic mineral water bottle. First, trim the Chinese rose branch to be used for the cutting to a length of about 8 cm. Remember, it is best to choose some robust branches, then cut the bottom of the branch into a slanted shape. You can keep a few leaves on the branch. In this way, we have finished preparing the cutting branch, and the next step is to put it into the "propagator."

We pour about 1 cm of clean water into a clean mineral water bottle, then put the prepared Chinese rose branch into the bottle. The bottom of the branch must be immersed in the clean water. If conditions allow, you can also disinfect the branch beforehand, which will speed up sprouting. After placing it successfully, do not put the bottle cap on; simply move the bottle to a place with scattered light for care.

Because the bottle can keep in warmth, with the Chinese rose branch placed inside, small white sprouts can be seen in about 7 days. After the Chinese rose branch has sprouted, take it out and transplant it into soil, then care for it in the normal way. Taking cuttings this way roots quickly and also ensures the success rate of the cutting.

In fact, the daily care of Chinese roses does not require much effort at all. It is a typical light-loving plant and must receive at least 5 hours of sufficient light every day, so that it will bloom abundantly and the branches will not become leggy. When a potted Chinese rose reaches winter, remember to move it indoors. In the north, do a good job of keeping it warm, and then it can continue to grow.

When watering Chinese roses, pay attention to keeping it moderately moist and dry. During the peak growing season in March and April and before flowering, be sure to water once every two days. In summer, when Chinese roses bloom on the branches, the amount of watering needs to be adjusted slightly. Fertilizing Chinese roses should also be done with light fertilizer applied frequently, so that the nutrients provided by the diluted fertilizer water can promote more vigorous flowering and a greater number of blooms.

The cutting method using this kind of "propagator" that Huahua mentioned above is not only suitable for Chinese roses; other plants that need cuttings can use it as well. If you have better little tips for cuttings, you are welcome to leave a message and share them with Huahua.
