There are super many garden varieties of Oxalis, which can be divided by planting time intospring-planted oxalis, autumn-planted oxalis, and four-season oxalis, among which autumn-planted oxalis has the most types and is further divided into many small series, such as the hibiscus series, the big pancake series, the pumpkin series, the claw series, the long-haired series, the OB series...

Autumn-planted oxalis refers to varieties planted in autumn, flowering in autumn, winter, and spring, and dormant in summer, so if you plant them now while you are diligent, the ornamental flowering period can last from autumn all the way to spring of the next year, solving the trouble of having no flowers to enjoy in winter~

If you are a beginner, these varieties are recommended:

step2 Autumn planting preparation

First find a reliable online shop to buy bulbs (there are shop recommendations at the end of the article). The bulbs of different oxalis varieties all look different, with sizes ranging from sesame and soybean to peanut and chestnut specs.

Then prepare flower pots. Generally, ones with a diameter of 10-15cm and a height of 12-15cm are all fine.

Next is mixing the soil. Oxalis is easygoing and not picky about soil, as long as it is loose and breathable. You can use peat soil, coconut coir, vermiculite, and perlite to mix it.

Finally, oxalis likes fertilizer. You can use Osmocote granular fertilizer as a base layer, and use Huaduoduo liquid fertilizer for daily use.
