When it comes to durian, many people love it and many people hate it. But where there is demand there is supply, and it is precisely because some people like eating durian that some people grow durian, so can we grow durian ourselves in pots? I believe that whether you like eating durian or not, you should be able to give it a try, because if you succeed in growing durian, it will feel very rewarding. In fact, when durian grows in nature it can get very tall, sometimes reaching a height of 25 m, but that does not mean we cannot grow durian in pots.

The specific steps are as follows:

1. Our first step is to select durian seeds. There are no special requirements here; any durian seed will do. After selecting good durian seeds, we need to wash them clean, because the durian seeds we pick may still have some fruit flesh or other material on them, so we need to clean them thoroughly. After washing them clean, we also need to dry them. To dry them, you do not need to bake them in the sun; just let them air-dry naturally in a windy environment. Once we see that the durian seeds are dry, we also need to put them in a container, then add clean water and soak them for 24 hours.

2. We need to prepare soil. After the durian seeds have soaked for 24 hours, we need to put the durian seeds into the soil. Because this is only the initial planting stage, the nutrient content of the soil we choose does not need to be too high, but the soil must have good permeability. We do this step only to nurture the durian seedlings. If we do not know whether our soil has good permeability, we can add some large sand grains to the chosen soil, and that will be enough to give the soil good permeability.

3. Next we need to formally plant the durian seeds. First we need to place the soaked durian seeds on the surface of the soil, then spread a layer of soil on top to cover the durian seeds, then gently press the soil so that it becomes a bit firmer, then we need to water the pot a little and place it in a ventilated spot, quietly waiting for it to sprout. It will sprout in about one month.

4. When we see the durian sprout, do not rush to move it to another flowerpot, because at this time the durian is still very fragile, and we may accidentally damage its root system, so we need to wait until it grows sturdier before transplanting it into another flowerpot. When transplanting, you must be careful; its root system is too fragile, and we need to protect it well. The best method is to transplant it together with the soil when moving it.

After completing the above steps, our durian planting steps are actually finished, and what comes next is the later care. Because durian is a tropical plant, it is not afraid of high temperatures at all, and we must give it plenty of light, otherwise it will be very difficult for it to grow. After it grows sturdier, we need to apply some organic fertilizer to it to build a foundation for its health. Basically, once these things are done, the durian will grow healthily.
