Autumn is in full swing, and it is orange season again. Many people throw the orange peel away right after eating the orange, which is really a shame, because orange peel is rich in nutrients, and using it to grow flowers works superbly. You will never need to spend money on fertilizer again. Here is a detailed introduction:

Nutrient solution

First collect the leftover orange peels, then put the orange peels into clean water and soak them for 24 hours. After 24 hours, filter out the orange peels, then stir the solution and clean water together at a ratio of 1:10, and pour it directly into the soil of pothos or spider plant, and it will make them grow nonstop.

Composting fertilizer

First chop up the collected orange peels with a knife, then put the chopped orange peels into a clean plastic bottle. You can add some brown sugar to speed up fermentation, then add an appropriate amount of clean water. Do not fill it too full, otherwise it will easily overflow. Put the cap on, then open the cap every 3~4 days to let it breathe, and leave it under the sun to bake. Basically, after about 3 months it will ferment successfully. Then stir the solution and clean water together at a ratio of 1:50, and water pothos or spider plant directly with it, and it will grow vigorously with glossy green leaves.

Wiping leaves

In autumn and winter, the temperature is relatively cool, so windows are basically rarely opened for ventilation, and therefore a lot of dust will fall directly onto the leaves. So we can directly wipe the leaves with orange peel, which can make the leaves shiny and glossy, and can also provide pothos and spider plant with sufficient nutrients. In addition, wiping leaves with orange peel can also achieve a pest-repelling effect.

And when composting other flower fertilizers, sometimes a rather pungent odor is given off, so we can throw a few pieces of orange peel in while composting, and it can remove the bad smell and even give off a faint fragrance!
