Orchids love this kind of "soil": ferment it with a little "yogurt" and it becomes rich and oily with nutrients. Netizens say: it helps digestion.

Growing flowers at home has become part of many people's lives. Many people place all kinds of flowers and plants on their balconies, in their living rooms and bedrooms to decorate the rooms and make the home full of life. At the same time, they also use them to purify the air indoors, which is good for the family's health.

As an elegant flower, orchids are loved by many flower growers, but in the process of growing them, all kinds of problems always come up. To grow orchids well, you first need to pay attention to a few points during cultivation: 1. Choose loose, breathable, fertile organic soil; 2. The growing environment must be ventilated and breathable; 3. There should be conditions for scattered light; 4. Water only when the soil is dry, and water thoroughly when you do.

As long as you pay attention to the four points above, you can grow the orchids at home robust, lush and green, and they can also bloom into beautiful flowers. Today I will share with you:

About the blending and fermentation of orchid growing soil

For people who love growing flowers, they generally do not buy flower-growing soil directly. Instead, they process it themselves afterward, and use a mixed soil blended after fermentation to grow flowers. As for orchids, they like to grow in permeable, breathable, fertile organic soil.

Peanut shells from daily life are a very good planting material for growing orchids. It is autumn now, the season when peanuts mature. You can dry unsalted peanut shells and crush them, put them in a plastic bag, and if you have expired milk or yogurt at home, you can add it to the peanut shells. This can not only speed up the fermentation of the peanut shells, but also make the planting material more fertile. Generally, after putting them in the bag, seal the bag well and place it in a cool place outdoors to fully ferment for one month, and it will ferment into organic fertilizer for growing orchids.

This organic fertilizer fermented from peanut shells is rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and trace elements, and it is permeable and breathable. Use 2 parts of the fermented peanut shells, 1 part sand soil and 1 part garden soil, mix them thoroughly, and then use the mix to grow orchids. It is not only loose and breathable but also full of nutrients.

Every year, spring and autumn are the best periods for repotting orchids and changing their soil. You can choose this mixed soil, then place the orchids in a ventilated, breathable place with scattered light for care. In this way, the plants not only grow leaves quickly, but also bloom into beautiful flowers when the flowering season comes.

This kind of fermented peanut organic fertilizer can also be used to grow clivia (Clivia miniata), spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum), pothos (Epipremnum aureum) and Christmas cactus (Schlumbergera), these common household flowers. Add it to the flower pots, and there is no need to add other fertilizers. The flowers can grow dense and robust, and you will not need to fertilize again for a year.
