In summer, we can't do without the water heater the most. Why do I say that? Because it's hot! So hot that you want to take a shower every single moment, and want to stay with water forever! Now that autumn has arrived and the weather has turned cool, it simply feels like heaven, right!

But have you ever thought about it? After using a water heater for a whole summer, or even for half a year, is it really clean? I bet when you see this question, you can't help feeling a little guilty when you answer. Yeah, we usually don't pay attention when we use it, but in fact we've really been using it for a long time, and some people have even been using theirs for a very, very long time!

Normally, the water dispenser or the air conditioner at home all need to be cleaned on schedule. Think about it, have you forgotten the water heater? It doesn't matter if you forgot. Today Huahua is here to remind everyone about the importance of cleaning the water heater!

Everyone must have an electric kettle at home, right? Anyone who has used one definitely knows that if you boil water for too long, a lot of limescale will appear. Actually, the same principle applies to water heaters. After using them for a long time, there will definitely be limescale and stains. Only by cleaning the water heater in time can we ensure the water we bathe with is clean. Otherwise, instead of getting cleaner the more you wash, you'll get dirtier the more you wash!

So how exactly should a water heater be cleaned? It's actually not hard. If your water heater at home has cleaning instructions, just follow what the instructions say. If the instructions don't mention how to clean it, then Huahua will teach everyone how to clean it!

Generally speaking, water heaters are divided into those with a drain port and those without a drain port. Water heaters with a drain port are a bit easier to clean. We unscrew the nut on the drain port and also take out the magnesium rod inside. Usually the water heater is positioned relatively high, and if you blindly let the dirty water out, you might get dirty water all over the floor, and it might even splash all over you... So to be safe, it's better to connect a hose to the drain port so the dirty water can be directed out more effectively.

After draining the dirty water, connect the hose to the hot water outlet and open the cold water valve. This allows cold water to rinse the inside of the water heater. Watch the clear water flowing out of the drain hose, and wait until the water gradually becomes clear, and then it's considered clean! Once it's clean, you can use the water heater again!

What about the other kind of water heater without a drain port? To put it simply and bluntly, we'll just make a drain port ourselves! We say "make," but we're not asking you to chisel out a hole. Instead, just observe which water outlet on your water heater is relatively lower, and use that outlet as the drain port. Generally speaking, the cold water outlet is usually a bit lower.

After choosing the drain port, you can follow the first method! What you need to pay attention to is your personal safety, because the water heater is positioned a bit high, and when cleaning you'll most likely be standing on a stool, so be careful! Also, when cleaning, be sure to unplug the water heater to prevent safety hazards such as electric leakage.

That's what Huahua has to say about the methods and importance of cleaning water heaters! Does everyone understand now? After all, this water heater is meant to clean our bodies, so it can't get dirtier the more we wash! Huahua still recommends that it's best to clean it once every half a year, which keeps the water heater clean and also extends its service life!
