Monthly roses (Rosa chinensis) are a common flower in daily life, with many varieties, rich colors and a long blooming period, and are deeply loved by people. If you want monthly roses to bloom every month, do one thing well during the flowering period. Let's take a look below!

There are many varieties of monthly roses, and the intervals between flowering periods differ for each; for most varieties the flowering interval is around 40~50. If you want monthly roses to bloom every month and to control the flowering period, according to the habits of the variety, you first need to observe the flowering interval and determine the pruning position; doing this allows you to control the flowering period and ensure flowers are supplied on time. It is generally customary to prune about 35 days in advance so that they bloom on schedule.

For dwarf types, small-flowered types and single-petaled varieties of monthly roses, the flowering interval is relatively short, with flowers to enjoy almost every month. During the flowering period, spent and old flowers need to be pruned away in time to ensure nutrients are concentrated and supplied to the flowering branches, preparing for the next bloom; routine care is all that is needed.

(1) Sufficient light:

In spring, summer and autumn, ensure monthly roses receive more than 5 hours of light, and place the flowers in a sunny environment, which is good for photosynthesis, ensures sufficient nutrients and promotes blooming of monthly roses.

(2) Suitable temperature:

The suitable growth temperature for monthly roses is 16~25°C. Spring and autumn are most suitable for growth and flowering. In summer, shading is needed, and water should be sprinkled on the surrounding ground to lower the temperature, to prevent the tender roots from being scorched. Failure to provide shade in time will scorch the fine roots around the pot wall, causing monthly roses to grow weakly and affecting flower bud differentiation and flowering.

(3) Timely fertilization:

Monthly roses need sufficient nutrients during the growth period, and fertilization can involve frequently applying decomposed organic fertilizer. Monthly roses repeat the process of sprouting, growing branches and flowering about every 1.5 months, with a high demand for nutrients, and various nutrients need to be supplied continuously to ensure normal growth and continuous flowering.
