There really are not many potted succulents suitable for growing indoors, because most of them need fairly ample light to grow well. If your home does not get much sunlight, or if it is brightly lit, then you can choose the following kinds of plants, which will grow well with appropriate scattered light each day.

1. Bear's Paw

Bear's Paw (Cotyledon tomentosa) has fuzzy leaves, and its leaves are especially plump, just like a little bear's paw. In summer, when it is hot and the light is ample, it tends to drop leaves, so the spot where you keep it must not be exposed to scorching sun or excessive direct sunlight; keeping it in a place with appropriate scattered light is enough.

The container for growing it should be small; do not choose too large a pot. The soil should be loose, breathable and well-draining, and you can add a little volcanic rock.

2. Rabbit Ear

Rabbit Ear (Monilaria moniliformis) is a potted plant especially suitable for growing indoors. It looks very charming, and its leaves are also fuzzy. Its leaves grow just like a rabbit's ears and feel very soft. It is very suitable for placing on a windowsill, where appropriate scattered light each day is enough.

Rabbit Ear is suitable for growing in a brightly lit place, with about 4-6 hours of scattered light each day being enough, and it does not need frequent watering.

In spring and autumn, you can give it a dilute organic fertilizer solution once a month, and do not pour the fertilizer onto the leaves.

3. String of Pearls

String of Pearls (Senecio rowleyanus) is especially suitable for growing as a hanging plant. It grows well on a windowsill with bright light or appropriate scattered light. It does not need excessive scorching sun, and its water needs are very low. Grown as a hanging plant, it does not need frequent watering. It grows well in a warm, dry environment all year round, and when you see its leaves starting to shrivel, you can water it thoroughly once.

4. Echeveria 'Perle von Nurnberg'

Echeveria 'Perle von Nurnberg' is an especially beautiful succulent. It likes a warm, dry environment all year round, and the growing temperature must be kept above 5 degrees, otherwise its leaves are easily frostbitten. In autumn and winter it looks its best, with red and yellow markings along the edges.

It likes loose, breathable and well-draining soil. The spot where it is kept should have appropriate scattered light, and frequent watering should be avoided; only water thoroughly after the soil has dried out completely.

5. Wax Plant

Wax Plant (Hoya) has a great many varieties. It is a vining succulent, very suitable for growing indoors, on a windowsill or balcony, where appropriate scattered light each day is enough.

Wax Plant is especially drought-tolerant and does not need frequent watering. About 3-6 hours of scattered light each day is sufficient, and scorching sun or excessive direct sunlight should be avoided. In addition, keep a certain amount of air humidity in the growing environment and avoid excessive dryness, otherwise red spider mites are easily bred. Keep the minimum growing temperature above 10 degrees.

6. String of Hearts

String of Hearts (Ceropegia woodii) is a succulent suitable for growing as a hanging plant. It has some tubers at the base of its stems and roots, looking like miniature sweet potatoes. It is a succulent that does not need frequent watering. The growing soil must be loose, breathable and well-draining sandy soil, and an appropriate amount of river sand or perlite should be added to the soil to ensure breathability.

The spot where it is kept should have appropriate scattered light, avoiding scorching sun. Keep the environment ventilated, and keep the minimum growing temperature above 5 degrees.

7. Christmas Cactus

Christmas Cactus (Schlumbergera) is especially suitable for growing in autumn, blooming in winter and spring. It starts to form flower buds in late autumn. It likes a cool, mild and moist environment, and does not need frequent watering during the growing period; water again only when the soil about 3-5 cm below the surface has dried out, and do not pour water onto the leaves.

The spot where it is kept should have appropriate scattered light. Also be careful to avoid excessively high temperatures; the best growing temperature is around 18 degrees. The growing environment should still maintain fairly high air humidity, avoiding dryness.

8. Easter Cactus

Easter Cactus (Hatiora gaertneri) looks somewhat like Christmas Cactus, and its care method is much the same as that of Christmas Cactus. Both are short-day plants, and from late winter to early spring they produce charming flowers, with colors including the common white, pink, purple, orange and red. Its leaf edges have red markings. It likes appropriate scattered light, and during the growing period it does not need frequent watering.
