Hello everyone, my name is Michael, and everyone also calls me by my outdoor name Sunshine. The story goes like this...
Ever since 2013, when I was browsing the flower and bird market near my home and saw the flower shop I often visited selling succulents, out of curiosity I fell into the succulent pit, and then there was no stopping it...
At first I bought about thirty or forty pots of succulents, spending over one thousand yuan, and then, knowing nothing at all, after one summer they were all dead.
Once they all died, I bought more. Throughout the whole summer there was no break, and up to now there are probably more than 200 pots, big and small, at home.
So what do I need to confess?
One night I needed to pot them, so I moved them into the bathroom in my room and started planting. After planting for nearly two hours, I was so tired that I sat on the toilet in a daze, and only then did I realize that my life had completely changed.
I believe fellow flower lovers have had the same experiences as me.I love life and love making friends, but after I started liking succulents I slowly changed.
1. I used to often get together and have fun with friends, but now when a friend calls, I say the delivery arrived and I need to plant succulents! Just like that, I lost a lot of social time.
2. I used to like buying clothes and dressing fashionably and handsomely, but now I have not bought clothes for a long time, and all the money went to succulents.
A couple of days ago I finally managed to buy two pieces of clothing, and now they are thrown in my room and have never been opened. We are all in this state, right?
3. I used to get together, exercise and drink coffee on weekends, but now whenever I have free time I run to greenhouses all over Shanghai. People who do not know might think I am a wholesale vendor at a vegetable market.
I often get a sudden impulse and drive more than 100 kilometers round trip to a greenhouse. Who told the good greenhouses in Shanghai to all be so far away?
4. I used to sleep in in the morning, and at night listen to music, drink a little red wine, read books and surf the internet.
Now as soon as the sun comes up in the morning I want to get up and move the succulents (some are indoors and need to be moved outside, and some outside are too cold and covered, so the covers need to be taken off). At night I sometimes even take a flashlight outside to the balcony to look at the succulents. People who do not know might think there is a thief in the middle of the night. You have done this too, right!
5. I used to see rainy weather and want to find a small cafe to drink a cup of coffee and act a little bourgeois, but now every day I am like a weather inspector, and as soon as I see rain my heart panics.
Hot weather is no good, cold weather is no good, rain is no good, cloudy days are no good...
6. After buying succulents, you need to buy pots, and after buying pots you need to buy soil...
It always seems like one thing is missing. When the succulents arrive the pots are gone, when the pots arrive the soil is gone, when the soil arrives the succulents are gone~~
Who the hell said this stuff is easy to grow? The succulent sellers all say it is easy to grow, and the books also say it is easy to grow. It turns out they were all lying!!
In summer they die from heat, in winter they die from cold, with too much rain they rot to death, and from time to time they also die from black rot.
We also have to fight pests, fight birds, and some flower lovers even have to fight mice and fight pet cats and dogs, but all of this is what we brought on ourselves...
8. Now every day when I get home I make myself all dirty, right? When I first started planting succulents, one cough sent mud flying all over the bathroom.
The only times there has been dirt under my nails were when I was little and now. My mom says I am just a flower farmer now!
9. During work hours I am constantly on my phone wandering through all kinds of succulent circles. Before, I only knew QQ groups were for communication, and buying succulents was basically through greenhouses plus Taobao.
Now there are even QQ groups for grabbing succulents. Buying a succulent depends on grabbing one. As soon as a picture appears you have to say 1, and if you are late it is gone. Then in a moment of excitement you buy a lot.
Recently I found that not only do you have to grab succulents, you also have to grab pots (I grabbed a lot of handmade pots). Too bizarre. Do you have this too?
10. Everyone is welcome to add more charges, but let me tell you a little secret: maybe when the sun rises tomorrow and I wake up from sleep, I will have forgotten again~
All right, I wrote ten charges, but actually there are still many more charges. I want to confess~~
