Flowers that can be grown without sunlight, with oily-green leaves filling the pot

Today we are talking about the prayer plant (Maranta). It has an elegant plant shape, with large green leaves, and is deeply welcomed and loved by a wide range of people. The deep green, glossy leaves look very beautiful. The prayer plant likes a warm, humid and semi-shaded environment, and is afraid of dryness and strong light, making it very suitable for indoor care.

(1). For the soil, choose a fertile, loose and well-draining medium. The prayer plant is easy to grow; you only need to meet its growth needs. For the flower pot, it is best to choose a pot with a wide mouth and a shallow depth, which is good for the development and growth of its root system.

(2). The prayer plant is an epiphyte and does not need too much light. It dislikes strong light; otherwise, if the light is too strong, it will scorch the plant, causing the leaves to turn yellow and reducing its ornamental value.

(3). There are many varieties of prayer plant. For varieties with large and thin leaves, watering needs to ensure the potting soil stays moist, and frequent watering is required; for varieties with slender and thicker leaves, the watering frequency can be reduced. Frequently spray water on the leaf surface and around the plant, and it is best to keep the air humidity between 70%-80%.

(4). The prayer plant is not tolerant of concentrated fertilizer, and fertilizer must not be applied excessively; otherwise, leaf burn will occur, causing the leaves to "exude water" and resulting in scorched edges on the leaves. Choose a diluted liquid fertilizer, with balanced nutrients, and just meet its growth needs as much as possible. If the prayer plant's leaves turn yellow, everyone should immediately stop fertilizing.
