Lipstick vine: one stem stuck into soil and it will live; leaves deep green and blooms bursting out of the pot

Lipstick vine, whose flowers look a bit like lipstick, with a peculiar shape, bright and gorgeous, and leaves that stay green all year round, is also called flower vine grass, or lipstick flower. Both its leaves and flowers are beautiful, and it is a perennial evergreen trailing herbaceous flowering plant. Its stems are fairly long and can hang down, growing to about 20 cm in length.
This kind of trailing plant: snap off one stem and plant a pot, and the flowers are beautiful and bright; grow it rough and it will still fill the pot!
Many flower lovers who have grown lipstick vine surely know a little trick: when growing it, you must manage it roughly and just water it occasionally; too much meticulous care actually makes it grow worse.
Growing lipstick vine is also very easy. You do not need to spend money on seedlings; just take a section of stem and a stem with leaves from a relative or friend, and stick it into river sand or sandy soil, keeping it moist and shaded.
It starts to root in a week, then move it into fertile, loose, well-draining and airy soil, and it quickly grows into a large pot.
Because lipstick vine does not have many or very sufficient roots, you only need to pay attention to watering. Do not water too much normally, but do not go a long time without watering either, to avoid root rot or drought from lack of water.
The soil for growing lipstick vine must be loose and fertile, airy, and sandy soil is best. If the potting soil has not been changed for a long time and the nutrients are used up, and it is especially compacted, lipstick vine cannot absorb nutrients, which leads to fewer flowers. The better the soil, the more flowers and the more vigorous the growth.
Lipstick vine likes bright indirect light and a semi-shaded environment, because its leaves are waxy and should not be exposed to strong sun often. In summer and early autumn, when the sunlight is especially strong, it needs to be shaded.
During the growing period, lipstick vine likes soil that is slightly moist. If you do not water for several days and the potting soil lacks water, the leaves cannot absorb water, which can also cause discoloration and so on.
For lipstick vine grown indoors, you must open the windows often for ventilation. Do not keep it in a dark, closed room all the time; waterlogged potting soil and poor ventilation will both make lipstick vine do poorly. Lipstick vine likes a warm environment. After the autumn temperature gradually turns cool, move it indoors in time for care.
As long as you pay attention to details such as light and watering, lipstick vine can easily go from a small cutting to a pot bursting with growth, blooming many flowers, beautiful and bright! Then from one pot you can again cut stems for cuttings and propagate many pots.
