Kalanchoe blooms nonstop and has vivid colors? Just these 5 tips

There are many varieties of kalanchoe, with bright flowers, blooming in winter, an excellent indoor potted flower. With proper care, kalanchoe can bloom in all four seasons. Let's take a look below!
(1). Water management:
Kalanchoe is a succulent plant and can store water, so watering can be done according to how dry the potting soil is. It does not need a large amount of water. Generally, water once every 2~3 days to keep the potting soil slightly moist, which can meet the plant's growth needs. In winter, not watering for 10~15 days will not cause it to dry out and die. Never water too much, as it easily causes root rot.
(2). Proper fertilization:
The choice of soil is very important. Generally, 4 parts leaf mold, 4 parts garden soil and 2 parts river sand can be used, with a small amount of bone meal added and mixed together. During the peak growing season, apply 1 time every 2~3 weeks a dilute compound liquid fertilizer or chemical fertilizer, which can promote plant growth and abundant flowering. In November, after the flower buds form, apply 1~2 additional times a 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution, which can make the flowers numerous and colorful, and also extend the flowering period.
(3). Temperature management:
In winter, the room temperature cannot be lower than 12 degrees. It is best at 15~18 degrees during the day and above 10 degrees at night. When the temperature drops to 6~8 degrees, the leaves will turn red, the flowering period will be delayed, and flowering will be affected.
(4). Timely pinching:
In the early stage of vigorous growth of kalanchoe, it needs to be pinched in time, which can encourage the plant to branch more and make the plant shape fuller. During the growth period of kalanchoe, the direction of the flower pot should be changed frequently so that the plant receives even light and maintains a good plant shape. Otherwise, the plant will grow leaning to one side. After the flowers fade, the spent flowers need to be cut off in time, which can avoid consuming nutrients and ensure the next flowering.
(5). Moderate light:
Kalanchoe should be placed in a sunny place all year round. But in northern regions in hot summer, the light intensity is high, which easily makes the leaves turn yellow, so around noon it is suitable to shade properly or place it in a semi-shaded spot indoors, but pay attention to ventilation and cooling. If the light is insufficient, the branches will be slender and the leaves thin and small. If the light is insufficient for a long time, it will cause a large number of leaves to fall off and lose ornamental value. If a plant that is blooming is placed in a dark place for a long time, the flower color will become dull and the flowers will wither and fall off.
