Almost everyone who loves plants keeps a pothos. Although pothos is easy to grow, quite a few people still end up with yellowing, withered leaves and rotted roots and stems. But don't worry - Huahua will teach you an exclusive rescue method to bring your pothos back to life!

If the pothos leaves and stems are dried up, give it a buzz cut right away!

When a pothos goes without water for a long time and is exposed to blazing sun, its leaves and stems will dry up. As long as the base of the stem is still green, it means the root system is fine - in that case, just give it a buzz cut!

Specific rescue steps:

1. Keep at least 1 growth node at the base of the pothos, and cut off all the rest of the dried and yellowed parts.

2. Put the trimmed pothos in a spot with bright, indirect light and good ventilation. Water only after the potting soil dries out, and you can mist the surface of the pot more often.

3. To make the pothos sprout new shoots faster, you can cover the pot with clear plastic wrap or a plastic bag, but be sure to poke a few holes in the plastic so it retains moisture while still letting air through.

4. In about 10 days, you'll see fresh little shoots emerging from the pothos stems.

5. Once the new shoots appear, you can move the pothos to a spot with good light to grow. Just mist it often and keep the potting soil slightly moist, and your pothos will turn lush and green again.

If the pothos roots are rotting, hurry up and make 1 cut!

After a summer, quite a few growers' pothos plants have basically died. The main reason is overwatering, which causes root rot. But a pothos with root rot can still be saved - as long as you're ruthless and make 1 cut!

I. Rescue steps when the stems and leaves are healthy:

1. If only the roots of the pothos are rotting and most of the stems and leaves are still fairly healthy, cut off the healthy stems and divide them into small sections, keeping one growth node and one leaf on each section.

2. Take cuttings from the trimmed stems. For the cutting soil, mix three parts peat moss with 1 part perlite. Once the soil is ready, insert the stem sections into the soil with the leaves facing up.

3. After planting the cuttings, water thoroughly and place them in a spot with bright, indirect light and good ventilation. Mist daily to maintain humidity, or cover the pot with a plastic bag.

4. In about 1-2 weeks, little shoots will sprout from the growth nodes.

5. After the shoots appear, you can safely place the pothos in a spot with good light to grow.

II. Rescue steps when a large number of leaves have turned yellow:

1. If the pothos root rot is fairly severe and most of the leaves have turned yellow, cut off the still relatively healthy stems, remove the yellowed leaves, and cut the stems into small sections, keeping one node on each section.

2. When cutting the stems, it's best to choose ones that have aerial roots at the nodes, as these root faster.

3. For the cutting soil, a mix of perlite and peat moss is fine. Lay the sections flat on the surface of the soil with the end that has aerial roots facing down, then water thoroughly.

4. Mist the surface of the pot often and keep it in bright, indirect light for about 10 days. Little shoots will emerge, which means your pothos cuttings have succeeded!

Have you mastered these pothos rescue methods?

If your pothos is also beyond hope,

hurry up and start treating it!
