Growing roses indoors: place them in "this" spot and they'll stay disease-free with no yellow leaves, blooming nonstop all year

Roses are a very popular household flower, and can generally be grown in the ground in a courtyard or in pots indoors. They are a plant with a very long blooming period, generally flowering from the start of summer each year all the way to the end of autumn. The flowers are bright and beautiful, and they are also an easy plant to grow.

Although roses are easy to grow, if you want them to grow dense and lush and bloom nonstop all year, there are still some small tips you need to pay attention to during the growing process. Of course, to grow any flower, we need to understand its growth and living habits; only by "teaching according to the material" can we grow it sturdy and dense. So let's learn about the living habits of roses below.

The living habits of roses

Roses like to grow in a ventilated, airy environment, so it is generally most suitable to grow them outdoors. This way the plant can not only receive full sun and grow dense, but the ventilated, airy environment also makes pests and diseases less likely. But if you grow them indoors, you need to put them on a balcony for care. Roses are a plant that loves fertilizer and water, so every spring you need to repot them and change the soil once, adding fertile soil, then water normally to keep the soil moist, and by all means avoid water accumulating in the pot. After the rose flowers fade each time, you need to prune them promptly, so that new flower buds and flowers can grow.

For growing roses indoors, a balcony is the most suitable spot

If you want to keep roses indoors, the ideal position is a south-facing balcony. This spot not only has good light but is also ventilated and airy, making it the most suitable for the growth of roses. If you put them in other places with poor light and poor ventilation, roses are very prone to yellow leaves and powdery mildew. Also, a balcony has plenty of scattered light, and the development of rose flower buds cannot do without light, so this can sprout more flower buds and produce beautiful flowers.

After rose flowers fade, timely pruning and fertilizing can bring them back into bloom quickly

Roses begin to open their flowers from summer each year, and the blooming period generally lasts about two weeks. After the flowers fade, they should be pruned promptly to reduce the drain of spent flowers on the plant's nutrients. Generally, prune from two nodes below the flower, then immediately spray the plant with a 0.2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate water solution to promote the development of side buds. This way the plant can quickly grow new flower buds and open flowers. With this repeated cycle of pruning and fertilizing, roses can bloom 5-6 times a year.

After autumn ends and winter begins, especially in the north, you need to prune off all the branches of the roses, then bury them with soil to prevent frost damage in winter. Then when spring comes, dig the soil open again to let the roses sprout and grow anew.
