Money-saving gardening tips: cut an egg carton in one go, stick an old umbrella into the pot, and the flowers grow more and more vigorously

Ever since I fell into the gardening rabbit hole, money flows like water. First you buy the flowers, pots, and soil, then later you have to buy tools. When plants grow weakly they need fertilizer, when climbing vines grow tall they need supports, and if you want to sow seeds, you need a seed tray too. Don't worry, Huahua is here to teach you money-free gardening tips.
No flower pots for gardening? Just poke a few holes in pots, bowls, pans, and basins
1. Seed starting
Want to sow seeds but lack a seed tray? Remember the eggs you bought a few days ago are still in the fridge. Take out the plastic packaging, cut off the lid on top, and poke a few drainage holes in the bottom.
The bottom part serves as the seed tray, the cut-off lid on top serves as the drip tray, and it even has two pull handles. This is truly the ultimate seed-starting tool.
Once all the seeds have sprouted, they need a slightly bigger container. Bring out a few disposable paper cups; paper or plastic both work. Keep poking holes in the bottom of the cups, enough to hold them until the large seedlings are ready to be planted out.
2. Flower pots
Flower pots are even easier to solve! From small rice bowls to large water vats, all can be used as flower pots. Whatever old, unused items you have at home, put them all to use.
A batch of old rice bowls that have been retired: drill a few holes in the bottom of each bowl, plant various succulents in them, and that is what you call "meat in a bowl."
If you have broken the lid of a purple clay teapot, don't throw away the pot just because it has no lid. Snip off a few overflowing little plantlets and plant them in it; it fits just right.
No gardening tools? Dishwashing cloths and makeup brushes will do
1. The drainage holes of a newly bought flower pot are too big, and when you fill it with soil it pours right through. They say you can line it with two pieces of broken tile, but where are balcony gardeners supposed to find those?
Don't worry. If you don't have broken tiles, you can use mesh screen, or take a look in the kitchen: those mesh dishwashing cloths are just right. Cut a piece to line the bottom of the pot; no soil leaks out, and drainage is especially good.
2. When you grow too many flowers, you gradually forget what all these little potted plants are called. Why not make small labels? All you need is a toothpick and a small slip of paper.
3. For some succulents, watering must be done with extreme caution. You worry about getting water on the leaves, and you also worry about losing control and overwatering into standing water. Why not put those used essence droppers to use? They are especially suitable for plants that need little water.
4. Unused makeup brushes can also be put to use, removing dust, soil particles, and dirt from plants, as well as those scale insects.
5. For some plants that need very good soil aeration, prepare a few plastic straws, poke several small holes in them, and stick them directly into the potting soil. The effect is great.
6. The dragon fruit planted before the New Year has grown big; it's time to set up a support! Take out the broken umbrella at home and dismantle it until only the umbrella frame remains.
Just insert it upside down into the potting soil, and let the dragon fruit grow vigorously upward!
