When it comes to growing succulents, although we always say there is no distinction between common and expensive ones, there is still a bit of a difference in price. After all, a few yuan per plant versus hundreds or even thousands makes a huge difference to succulent lovers. However, succulent prices are closely tied to the market, and it is quite possible that something was an expensive variety yesterday and today has immediately dropped to an acceptable price...
But even though succulent prices change in the blink of an eye, there are always some succulents that remain at heights we cannot reach. When you see their price tags, it is as if you can see them grinning at us - little one, you still want to buy me???
Variegated Bingpo Yulu
(once sold for a sky-high price of 130W)
Bingpo Yulu has been praised to an almost startling degree, and once variegated it is even more extremely rare. This price is probably something we can only look at and laugh about, but it is said that the market for Bingpo Yulu is quite murky, so even succulent lovers with the means to buy one would do better to watch for a while longer.
Devil's Claw
Truly a holy relic of the demon realm~ Just from the look of it, you know it is not cheap~
Devil's Claw Echeveria unguiculata is a succulent plant in the Crassulaceae family, genus Echeveria, published by Kimnach in 2002, native to northwestern Tamaulipas, Mexico, east of San Luis PotosĂ. The Devil's Claw plant is rosette-shaped, with a diameter reaching 10CM; the leaves are ovate-lanceolate, the leaf tips have obvious needle-like points, the spikes are black, the leaves range from green to gray-black, covered with white powder, with a few ridge lines. Devil's Claw usually grows as a single head and does not form clusters.
Neon Yulu
5000+
Still a succulent that is too expensive to reach. Neon Yulu is itself a top-grade variety among Yulu, generally valued at over 5000, but if it is an exceptional specimen, someone will still take it at 10W.
This pot of Neon Yulu is uniform and imposing, so translucent it looks ready to drip, absolutely at the "goddess" level among Yulu. As a bystander, I can only describe my feelings on seeing this price as dripping with sweat! Growing succulents to this level is basically a pace that leaves you poor for three generations! And a variegated Yulu with a color as translucent as white jade like this also commands a high market price, at least around 2000 yuan.
Variegated Pingpong Funiang
2W
Although variegated ones are more expensive than ordinary ones, a variegated succulent that can reach a sky-high price must have off-the-charts beauty. Just look at this Variegated Pingpong Funiang and you will know!
Pingpong Funiang is a succulent plant in the Crassulaceae family, genus Pachyphytum, and is a horticultural variety of Funiang. The leaves are green to gray, covered with white powder, the top edges of the leaves tend to turn red, and a red line often appears between the leaves, giving it a very "young lady" feeling. It blooms in early summer, sending up long peduncles, and at the tips of the peduncles several small flowers branch out again, much like hanging pendant lamps. The small flowers are bell-shaped and orange. Its beauty is absolutely no less than any other variety.
Variegated Maughan's Haworthia (Variegated Haworthia maughanii)
Starting price for top-grade specimens: 100,000
Guess how much a Variegated Haworthia maughanii like this can sell for? This pot of Haworthia truncata also starts bidding at 100,000! From Japan, the Japanese, who always take anything beautiful to the extreme, also exhaust themselves over "succulents," and that is how they cultivated such a top-grade Haworthia truncata. Looking closely, the variegation is strong and imposing, evenly distributed across the entire plant like a landscape painting, truly a delight to the eyes.
Pachypodium brevicaule
5W
Although it seems a bit ugly, that still cannot hide its high value. Ordinary ones cost several thousand, and top-grade ones over 5W should be no problem!
Pachypodium brevicaule is an endangered species among succulents, native to southwestern Madagascar. This pot of Pachypodium brevicaule is at least fifty years old, with a solid rootstock and green leaves dotted among it in a well-arranged way. Its overall appearance is elegant and serene, full of Zen flavor, and in the world of Pachypodium brevicaule it absolutely deserves to be called a handsome gentleman comparable to "Pan An"!
Silver Crown Jade
At least 6000 per single specimen
Buy one and you will have to chop off your hand; buy a few more and probably not even a kidney will be left~
I guess a large part of its high price is certainly because of its extremely slow growth. As the saying goes, things are precious when they are rare! North American Silver Crown Jade has small flowers and a small plant. Its small size is mainly because of its slow growth, but a tiny plant can be seventy or eighty years old, so never underestimate it.
White-skinned Moon Boundary
2w
White-skinned Moon Boundary is truly precious because it is rare. It itself grows extremely slowly, and moreover its place of origin is abroad. After export was prohibited, the circulating quantity became even smaller, so it is understandable that mature plants can be sold at high prices.
White-skinned Moon Boundary can be said to be very beautiful. Its roots are harder than a radish and softer than tree roots, and its skin is wax-like, storing large amounts of water and nutrients. Its leaves are like misty rain, beautiful and dreamlike, and together with its short, thick caudex, it is very cute.
Red Egg
It is said that one leaf costs 500+, and with a few more leaves it could still compete with the ones above, and judging by its look it is actually very cute too!
Variegated Queen Aloe
30W+
The value of Queen Aloe is there for all to see, so this price is actually imaginable. Variegated succulents are themselves more expensive than non-variegated ones, and moreover Variegated Queen Aloe is not even necessarily available for purchase!
Spiral Aloe, commonly known as Solomon's Crown of Jade, also called Queen Aloe. Its many leaves and perfect geometric pattern make people marvel at the wonders of nature. Spiral Aloe, also known as Queen Aloe, blooms in a truly imposing way! The flowers are terminal, bell-shaped, pink, 3.5 cm to 4 cm long, very brilliant and eye-catching, and often several bloom at the same time.
After seeing so many kinds, let us not first discuss which ones you can afford. I just want to ask, how many have you all seen?
Do not cry~ it is not over yet~
Although the prices of the following are unknown, that does not affect their status as treasures of the succulent world!
Original Sword Snow White
Love Star
Red-edged Spirit Shadow
Jin Shang Zhu
Variegated Kirin's Constellation
Chocolate Line
Cupid
Sparrow Fan
Sasa no Yuki
Variegated Heart Crystal
Cheese
Red Division
Crowned Curve
Fortune Rabbit Ear
A high price naturally has its reasons. Behind every variety's beauty is the hard work of the grower, so how should I put it? Whether expensive or cheap, as long as it is grown well, it is all about one word: beautiful!
Succulents have no distinction of noble or common; as long as it is one you like, it is the best!
