The fragrance of roses is known to all; their form is like a graceful young lady. In autumn they bloom endlessly with their own splendor, and now and then one likes to bend their branches and plant them on one's own balcony. Three months ago, the editor got a few rose plants, and at first did not know how to supplement their nutrients, so they bloomed very few flowers.

Later, a friend introduced the idea that there is a kind of "mountain harvest" to feed to roses, and every month they bloom especially abundantly. The editor, holding a give-it-a-try attitude, went and bought some to bring back to grow roses, and as a result, after 1 month the flowers had grown wildly, truly exciting to the extreme! Today Little Fox shares this "mountain harvest" with flower friends: give it to roses, and flowers will cover the branches.

This "mountain harvest" is the bamboo shoot commonly seen at markets. Many people only know that bamboo shoots can be used as an everyday dish, but do not know they can also be used as flower fertilizer. The nutrients they contain include protein, calcium and phosphorus, cellulose, and so on, all of which can promote plant growth. Use them to grow roses, and there will be many buds, flowers as big as a fist, and they can also loosen the soil!

So how do you make bamboo shoots into flower fertilizer? Below, the editor will explain the method of making it:

1. Choosing bamboo shoots has its tricks

You may not know that not just any bamboo shoot can be used to grow flowers. When gathering them, it is best to choose older bamboo shoots, which are good for making fertilizer. For growing flowers at home, you do not need too many; 1 small shoot is enough. Note that when buying bamboo shoots, carefully observe whether there is any rot; if there is rot, do not use them.

2. After washing, dry them thoroughly

Wash the bamboo shoots clean with clear water, then cut them into slices, about the size of two fingers, then spray them with a fungicide diluted with water at 1200 times, the weaker the better. Then place the bamboo shoot slices on the balcony to bake in the sun; after about 5 days they should be completely dry.

3. Chop them up, then bury them deeply

Once the bamboo shoot slices are dried, chop them with a knife, the finer the better, but the knife needs to be sterilized at high temperature before use. Next, dig a small hole in the rose's potting soil, usually at the edge of the pot, because it needs to be farther from the rose's roots to avoid burning them. Then fill in 1-2 slices of bamboo shoot and cover with the soil that was originally dug out.

Bamboo shoots can be used to grow roses, but they cannot be used as the main fertilizer for a long time. Although they contain many nutrients, they are not comprehensive enough. If you want roses to absorb them better, you need to supplement them with a bit more fertilizer. You can use a flower-promoting nutrient solution specially made for rose plant growth, sprinkle it once every 10 days, and each time dilute it with water at 1000 times.

The above is the "mountain harvest" bamboo shoot that Little Fox wants to share with flower friends. After using it, the effect really is quite good: many buds, and the flowers are no smaller than a fist. Finally, one more reminder: besides bamboo shoots, there are many things in life that can be made into fertilizer, such as apple peels and banana peels. The methods of making fertilizer are all similar, and flower friends can give them a try.
